Thank you for 1) not having annoying music and letting the natural sounds of your environment come thru the vid. I enjoy that. 2) for being informative and providing needed practical info. You guys have a great channel. Plz don’t change.

Sawadee Kawp! I took private Thai language lessons for 6 months and the admin at my office still didn’t understand me when I greeted her in the morning.😅 enjoy your journey. The Thai’s are the most gracious and tolerant people I have come across in my lifetime.

That's too funny 😂 The people of Thailand were so welcoming and kind, it's definitely one of our favorite places in the world!

The outdoor bathroom is excellent! More places should have that! We once stayed with a guy who had an outdoor shower. He'd built a sort of brick "cubicle" so that you were concealed on 3 sides, but the open side faced out into the forest - it was beautiful! My favorite tactic for aggressive dogs that get too close is to squirt them in the face with my water bottle. Their reaction is actually pretty hilarious and we've been chased by dogs that look like they've been raised on a diet of steroids and hatred, but a quick squirt of the bottle and they have no idea what just happened to them. 😂 Really beautiful scenery in this one, guys!

Add a couple of shots of vinegar to that water bottle (for dog repellent only) and see how quickly they back off.
@RollingExistence Жыл бұрын
That sounds awesome! Agreed that they should be more common 👌 Luckily the dogs in Thailand gave up pretty quickly, but the water bottle sounds like it works really well! We'll keep that in mind for the future 👍

Welcome to Thailand. I cycle a lot and I really enjoy watching your channel. Please take caution for riding in Thailand though. Lots of motorbikes here are going against traffic flow and on the shoulder of the road which is very dangerous for bicycle. Sometimes, cars or pickup trucks could also run on hard shoulder of the road too. And they could be on any side of the road, and on any direction.

Your choice of route in malay peninsula is the same that i planned, However, i would prioritise passing through satun-hatyai-patani and further up Satun-krabi-phuket is nice too, both side of thai coast is good choice

Excellent video. Enjoy Thailand. Since mango season is approaching, maybe you can get some mango and sticky rice (khao niew ma muang). It is so tasty and flavorful especially when the mangos are ripe and fresh.

Did you have any issues crossing boarders with your bikes? When we went from chile to Argentina and then back into chile they wanted proof of ownership. Our bikes were second hand so it was tricky but we sorted it.

it's my experience most of the cheaper hotels have beds that are really quite hard. after a hard days ride maybe it makes no difference. maybe i should watch a few more episodes before asking but have you tried durian in thailand? (the stinky fruit) great episode...thanks.
@RollingExistence Жыл бұрын
The beds in Thailand were very hard most of the time, but we got used to them! We tried durian in a dessert which took the edge off a little bit...still need to try it by itself and get the full experience!
@devdroid9606 Жыл бұрын
Have you tried durian fruit Jenny? I've heard so much about it! I wonder if the flashing LED lights are attracting the dogs. I have one too but found that turning it off as well as removing dark sunglasses whilst riding around dogs can help.

We tried it in a dessert to take the edge off 😅 The smell is off-putting but it tasted pretty good!

Super big budget. I used 600-1.000 bath Thai./day for 85-110 km. ( 18-28 usd. per day in Thailand my country.)

Your video shots are really great. I remember releiving myself at road edge of jungle in thailand and was warned to watch out for cats. Was trying to work out what they meant by cats when the realization of tigers came to mind when I was half through my business! They only kill one to two people per year in Thailand so its not too dangerous. Thai food is amazing.

I visited Tibet in 1988, and Lhasa particularly was full of feral dogs. Apparently they are reincarnated monks who didn't quite come up to snuff in human form - might explain the bad attitude of the ones you met at the temples.

What are you using for navigation and cyclo comp?
@RollingExistence Жыл бұрын
We use OSMand for cycling navigation. We also have a Garmin Edge 830, but we only use it to record our route every day and keep track of mileage.
