Yeah, I'd practiced shooting before when I worked at a summer camp in the US. But the kickback on those was nothing like this one!

Thanks! Yeah, I really love the scenery in this area, especially the national parks. Takes a bit more time but definitely worth it if you're leaving in early or mid summer. I entered Montana in September and just about stayed ahead of the cold weather through the mountains. Lots of campsites in Glacier and Yellowstone close in September, so the coast might make more sense for people leaving later in the year.
