An excellent video - I am a driver on the Bure Valley Railway and really enjoyed your video, especially the drone shots. The view of the line from the footplate is the best of course and makes me yearn for those warm summer days. Having intimate route knowledge, some of the locations jump around a bit which kept me on my toes! That cattle/loading dock at Coltishall has since been swept away by the owners sadly. Oh, and fyi "the stoppers" were called buffer stops!! ;-)

Great video peeps and it has made me want to get off my hind and explore next time we have a sunny day. I only live 5 miles away from this line in North Walsham, so its crazy that I have never walked or cycled down it. Although, I have been on the Bure Valley Railway narrow gauge train a few times, but not for many moons. Thinking riding along the Weavers Way route that was another old railway line from North Walsham to Aylsham. (Sad to think that Aylsham could have been a big railway hub with 3 separate lines that went to the town (Bure Valley, Weavers Way and Marriotts Way). Then ride along Bure Valley line to Wroxham and take existing train back from Wroxham to North Walsham.

You should definitely ride it, I'd taken the bure valley train in the past too but u don't always notice all the best bits! We've taken a look around alot of the Marriotts Way and Weavers Way, we'll definitely be returning to do some videos of those lines too.. Thanks for watching glad u enjoyed it 😊

Great video guys. Beautiful around the Bure Valley Railway. I visited Great Hautbois church ruin and the medieval grade two listed Mayton Bridge nearby to the route you cycled. Looks like you chose a great day for a bike ride - one of our rare sunny days so far this summer 😎

Really enjoying your railway adventures. I am one of the volunteers for Honing old station and the mock signs you see there were made by myself. If you get the chance this September do pop along for our heritage open days where I will be giving guided tours. Keep up the great videos 😁😁
@ExploringWithEmAndStu3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Damon, we really appreciate you watching our videos, we'll definitely try and make the effort to come along to the open days in September as we're always keen to learn more. Hoping to make a few more videos about the local lost stations and railways this year as we find them fascinating. Great work you all did at Honing, we visited again 2 weeks ago and was sad to see it all so overgrown again and some damage had been done, not sure who's responsible for keeping it tidy but if you hear of any volunteers needed to help keep it tidy please let us know as we'd love to do our bit.. Thanks for taking the time to comment, its great to hear from you, hopefully we'll bump into you one day. Em 😊👍

Is the tour at honing....its really great to have someone comment who is a real part of the volunteers...we noticed at honing there has been slight vandalism on some of the signs we are sorry to say...we went there last week to take pictures for our hornby set up....we really like what we are doing on these rail lines...very interesting....we did a video on honing not so long ago and we found the place amazing specially all along the line...we will be cycling the route soon...telling a story of the line....thank you so much for commenting it's really appreciated...stay safe and you keep up the good work. Hi Em & Stu I'm visiting the Norfolk broads in April and starting out on the hire boat in Brundall. We have folding bikes on the boat and want to moore up in Wroxham and ride to the pub at Coltishall. Do we get into Coltishall from the railway exit in Coltishall and is the exit near the Coltishall sign in your video? Thank you for sharing and uploading your experience.
@WolfandWitch8 ай бұрын
I was also meant to ask how long is it to ride from Wroxham to Coltishall?
@ExploringWithEmAndStu8 ай бұрын
Hi Sarah, Wroxham to Coltishall is no more than about 2 miles along the old railway track, when you get to the old station, now a private residents but clearly sign posted, you can head down into the village of Coltishall from there quite easily from the old station approach road, its just a few minutes on bike into the village centre. We've been into the village and had a cheeky half at the Red Lion in the past, its a beautiful place to visit. Hope our information helps abit and that you have a lovely holiday, just hope the mud clears up abit by them! 🙈 Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions and we'll try our best to help. 😊👍
