I, too, am glad you made the trip, Lawrence. And you could call this a race, a stage race for your survival. And survival shows on the tele are quite popular here in America. We like to see lots of suffering and then, at last, survival, and your journey through the desert had it all.

I agree with the others - you're getting better and better!! And I actually caught myself on eagerly waiting for each and every episode from you!! Amazing views, spectacular editing, great music!! It's just WOW!!!! I noticed that this video is 60 fps and it did make a difference. I wonder why did you switched to 60, what made you do this? 60 fps is less sinematic, but looks much more real, and this is great, but it "pumps out" all the resources of your computer while editing. Do you have a very powerful PC with you on this journey, or did you find a secret key for 1080p 60fps timeline editing? Anyway thanks for showing this great adventure!! :)) You guys are insane... You deserve a monument in that desert :) Proud of you!!!

Another stunning series of shots Lawrence , like your dialogue too . The worst is over by the time you read this comment . Not sure what your plans are but I think you three need some rest before the second phase . When you get to the next big town take a couple days off to recharge . You road through the gates of hell and lived to tell the tale , not many could pull off what you guys did . Find a hotel with a hot tub or pool and hopefully with a massage service , what ever the hell that ends up being . lol . And take in the local entertainment , again what ever that means . True legends every one of you ..

Try a little sealant inside your tubes. Mebe that’ll help with the punctures
@webbo736 жыл бұрын
Allan O Castro Theyre In the desert dude, where are they getting sealant from now?
@aldepal6 жыл бұрын
Mike Webster they’re not in the in desert they are in Yosemite now. These posts are about a day behind. Plus they picked up a ton of tubes while they were in the desert at a bike shop previously. They have tons more riding to go. They need to Get tubes with removable cores and pop some sealant in there or get tubes with sealant most shops should have.
@yukiinu55346 жыл бұрын
"Slime" sealant is only good for small thorn type punctures. Any other patched larger puncture, with slime in the tube, will result in the hole leaking again because the slime works its way between the patch and the tube, and erodes the patch glue. I know that from experience.

Simple. If you don't have hundreds of miles of desert cross country experience, don't ride across Death Valley. I went east to west across D.V in May/106° in the shade, away from buildings there is no shade, 50 miles between water stops (carry 30 pounds of extra water) up/down roads/wierd winds/not flat. The first 15 miles of desert on the east and west sides are beautiful and then you go down into real D.V and it is the most miserable unappealing geologic, flora and fauna desert bike riding in america. I have riden all over the american deserts (easily 1,000 miles) and have always loved it. I know how to have ice water all day, and what foods will stay safe to eat overnight in desert heat, but half way across D.V I hated the desert and cycling. In my 9,000 miles of crosscountry bike touring, car drivers stopped only 3 times to ask if I was o.k because they could see how difficult the conditions were for riding a bike. Going across D.V car drivers could see the conditions were so bad for bike riding, that I lost count of how many drivers stopped to ask if I was o.k. If you think I'm crying, I have biked in all conditions, terain, and weather (froze my throat in a snow blizzard) have crashed and almost been killed. I still love bicycle touring, will do a 1500 mile loaded bike tour this summer even though I am dieing with only 11% kidney function. But never Death Valley again. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE DESERT BICYCLE TOURING EXPERIENCE, DON'T RIDE ACROSS DEATH VALLEY.
@webbo736 жыл бұрын
YUKI INU These guys ars doing it with no desert riding experience... Yes its not something to be done lighheartedly but they have taken precauitions and have learnt a lot. Audere Est Facere.
@yukiinu55346 жыл бұрын
Mike Webster I think they must have a motor vehicle with them. Places to buy water/food etc., are far apart in the desert and in the foothills and mountains, and they don't look like they are carrying the amount of water that you need to keep constantly hydrated in the heat and doing those climbs. They are going north and didn't really show D.Valley. The desert they are showing is typical sagebrush desert, not the desolate D.Valley. I strongly suggest that anybody planning a bike tour in calif/america look at lots of other videos from other riders, in order to get a more accurate idea of what touring is like in the western half of america. By the way it looks like you have a nice dog. Lucky Guy!
@bbikerlawrence6 жыл бұрын
No, we went right through Death Valley, but I decided not to make a video that day as it was really tough and mostly dark having left so early hence the round up. We did not have any support, and as tough as it was a lot of what you said above was incorrect. Cheers
@Cade_Media6 жыл бұрын
YUKI INU wasn't that hard mate.
@yukiinu55346 жыл бұрын
Francis Cade I went east to west across D Valley and it was just as I described it, and worse. What I say, I say with typical bike tourests in mind, who on a loaded bike and not being a bike racer will go only half as far as you guys in a day. And will spend twice as much time on a particular route from point a to point b and area (so, requiring they carry twice as much water/food) in the desert, foothills, and mountains. A youtube site named "Three Wheel Journey" is a collection of videos by a bike tourist that has toured all over the U.S. Each video contains excellant information about the road surface, road shoulder, traffic, city, county, state, and national parks camping, showers, food, water, topography, weather, in route libraries to download the days videos, and about anything else of interest to a bike tourest. And all of this information is only for a comparitivly short stretch of designated highway or road. All bike tourists should give it a look. You guys might find it useful.
