Yes VIjay, principles will be the same. On an MTB, your chest will be more open due to the bars being straight and wide. This will give you an upright position. Your arms will work as a second suspension

No, not really. For MTB it matters if you’re climbing or descending/riding technical stuff or even jumping as you’ll need to be in “attack position”. For climbing you’ll want it to be as up as in this video/on your road bike but for “attack” you’ll want to be as low as possible (as you won’t be pedaling much downhill). It’s best to have a dropper post if possible for quick transition

Now, can I get the saddle rod extended and still ride the 17" bike or should I go for a bigger size bike?

You could get a rod extender too just gotta make sure the quality is good cause the rod can also get bent, has happened to me

I used to ride a kids' bike and on that bike I used the highest saddle height. But it was still too low for me. Now I've got a 17" adult mountain bike. My body height is 5'4" and my inseam height is 75cm. In my previous bike, I could touch the road with knees bent while sitting on the saddle. I could walk with my cycle while sitting on the saddle. I didn't need to get off my saddle when I stopped. But now if I set my saddle height according to the video, I feel unease and imbalanced. Now when I stop, I need to stand up on the ground leaving the saddle and sometimes I barely save myself from falling. And I am also feeling scared. What should I do?

If you're looking for a road bike then check out Triban RC100, I have the same bike and it's almost been a year. Decathalon has excellent customer service and they usually fix minor things on your bikes for free. I was earlier going to buy Hero Iguana but then the customer service of the local dealers is just pathetic.
