Once again young man ....... It does my soul good, too see Australian vermin handled in such a precise, professional manner. It's something that only other vermin hunters will understand. You're an inspiration to many. Cheers

Thanks mate, yes that doesn't surprise me...from reading other people's reports it seems to be common for most places these days, thanks to 3 circulating strains of Calici.

The 3rd, 4th and 5th shots seemed to hit on the head-neck areas and they no longer stretched immediately after. Great video; excellent sportsman.

Yep, well shooting a bunnie at that distance is awesome! Do you use any software to assist in dialing in at that range? Or do you just do the math?
@cyclo3608 жыл бұрын
I got the basic info from the side of the box (Trajectory , velocity etc) for a 200yd zero. I then punched the details into JB Ballistic software. I have trajectory figures in 5yd increments from (for the 22-250) 200-600yds and for wind in in 2.5mph increments up to 20mph. Because the software reads out in 1/10 of MOA increments I had to change it to 1/4 for the sake of the 4 clicks per MOA on the scope turrets. All my measurements are in imperial to match the click adjustments on the scope so I guess its half Ballistics software calcs and half my own. I dont use an expensive anemometer just an 80 buck caldwell but my RF if the latest from leupold , this will read on bunnies out to and past 800yds, where as my previoues leupold would read out only to 500. Thats why in earlier vids I made you will see white tiles set up as markers starting from 500yds and spaced at 5 yd increments. In the earlier days I used to use point blank software but that was pretty basic so I had to do 75%of the calcs myself, when Im out shooting I dont use any Iphone apps just a ballistics chart I drew up myself you will see the chart wedged under the windscreen wiper.. cheers, Sean

Nice mate. Yes Once you start the long range stuff It does get technical. I am just in the process now. I have the app strelok pro and also a little weather station I can hook up to it. It's the weatherflow bluetooth unit. Just starting out and there is a long range shooting club I am going to join to learn the art. I just hope with the rifle and scope I just bought will be suitable :) It certainly is impressive to watch. Love watching the bullet drift down and make the hit.

New shooting buddy ,I use a 220 swift in a ruger no 1 , for fox ,vermin and small deer ,those sako h/b rifles are heavy buggers , but very nice rifles I have two sakos myself very accurate all of them atb steve
@cyclo3608 жыл бұрын
Good to meet you Steve, No 1s are nice rifles and your swift has an edge over the 250...yeah sakos are a cut above the Remingtons and Winchesters, unlilke Remingtons you dont have to get a Gunsmith to make them shoot straight. cheers, Sean.

Sorry I’m a little late, but doesn’t shooting the top predator of the bunnies in the area kinda work against you when your goal is to lower the population of bunnies 😂
@cyclo3606 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, yes the foxes do help to keep the rabbit population in check BUT they also prey on native and farm animals which far outweighs the good they do....plus they are inasive specie which dont belong in Australia.

@cyclo3608 жыл бұрын
I use 10x42 steiner binos for glassing and when I take the .260 out I will use a spotting scope as well....them bunnies are hard to spot past 700

with the government virus killing off @40% of the bunnies, the meat won't be eaten but what about the pelts? Maybe you could still benefit from this. Tandy buys all types of animal pelts. Look them up on the internet and take care.
@cyclo3607 жыл бұрын
Quite true, but when shot with long range high powered rifles they are ruined, cheers
