I was grateful it was a bit of a dud. Was expecting a lot worse. I spent the night until about midnight on my front veranda in Heatley and no beer tins moved. Hope you have power back on. Got mine back about 2pm Sunday. The heat and humidity has been shocking to sleep at night🍻🍻🍻🍻

Glad you guys got let off lightly. We were under Jasper. 4 days of gales and 2.5 meters of rain in 5 days! 8 days without power. All roads cut off by major landslides. Many houses destroyed. keeping up the Kids' morale thru it all was the hardest part.. But we were prepared so it was all good.... I guess not all Cat1 to Cat 2 cyclones are made equally. Fun and games in FNQ!

Copped it full force on the tail end of it here in Nelly Bay, Magnetic Island. The eye was calm af. The start was like your vid. Just a shit tonne of rain. But after the eye went past the wind came from the east smack bang in the front of the house. The "howling" was wicked. I reckon we copped the supposed CAT 3 front, but it had already slowed to a CAT 1 by the time it got to you guys. Dunno where "north of Townsville" yas are but the island stared it down. Barely any power lines down coz upgrades were done here about 2-3 years ago. However Horsehoe Bay on the Northern end got smacked down. They had wires down somewhere inaccessible round there, so we had a chopper overhead most of the morning Sunday(today), and now THANK F#@k we've got power restored after it went down round 5pm Thursday night. It sure as shit wasn't worse than Jasper for Cairns!!! I'd have gone TROPPO 8 days without power. The 3 days with zero wind to cool us down has sucked worse than Kirrily. Good vid man. Sorry it was a fizzer for yas.

That sux balls!!! I dunno why Ergon won't bury the grid. In some type of waterproof conduit or tunnels? Especially in new estates/land releases. But I guess it's too much of a bite outta there yearly PROFITS EITHER WAY!! Thought ya had power during the storm? Did it go out later? Or do u have a gennie?@@SkidPig

My little younger sister lives on Maggie and tey battened down the hatches and prepared to get smashed...I was on the phone with her a few times. She called when the eye was going over, then, about half an hour or so after the eye passed it settled down real fast. She was a bit annoyed because it was her first cyclone, so she was expecting, more. I went through Ita and Nathan (I think) when I lived up near Cooktown some years ago and by the sounds of it, Kirrily was a little different. Also, as it was hitting Maggie it was also turning WNW, so I think they dodged a bullet really.

That's a good insight to a cat 2 or 3 cyclone the BoM predicted after they smoked to many bongs lol those people on face book saying 150kmh were lying there wasn't any gusts much over 100 khm on the land the high recorded gusts where out to sea and only 1 was recorded and thats docent classifies it as a cyclone it means it was a strong gust of wind and here on the vic coast in the roaring 40s it is just a windy day there isn't any evidence of it being a cat2 or 3 it barely made it to a cat 1 in some places but even then technically it wasn't a cat anything it was a deep tropical low to be classified a cat 1 winds need to be a minimum of 90kmh constant winds with 125 kmh gusts and they have to last for at least half an hour so your vidio shows you didnt get anything of the sort
