X-men 39 is probably the most underrated and undervalued comic on this list. Not only is there a significance of the origin but the added factors of introduction of the new costumes that for Cyclops in particular became his look for many years to come. Even costume changes over the years he's gone through have been variations of this exact look. I have a feeling when people realize this, it will not be going for bargains in any condition. That's just me though

I don't have a single one of these! I do remember seeing an older Cyclops solo series in my lcs, but can't recall if this is it. I sure would like that run of three death of Jean Gray issues though. Classic, classic covers. Those guys were all at their peak in those days, Claremont, Byrne, Cockrum. A hot ticket.

There isn't really a minimum or maximum budget you need; there are cool books you can get for $1-5, or cool books you can get for thousands. You can make comic book collecting fit in just about any budget. What specific characters are you interested in?

Only problem is the trailer looked weak and it’s pg 13 so carnage isn’t gonna be able to do his thing….. you can find pages and pages of them for sale in n eBay

@@thecrimsonking5142 Well, Carnage's 1st appearance (Amazing Spider-Man #361) can be had for like a couple hundred. His first solo issue and origin, Carnage Mind Bomb #1, is much cheaper if 361 is too expensive. Even cheaper than that is Carnage It's a Wonderful Life, ASM 362, and ASM 363. Still cheaper is Venom Carnage Unleashed #1. So there are tons of great Carnage books you can get depending on your budget.

A question for you. What do you think about the Marvel Tales and Marvel Fantasy Masterpieces series? These are reprints of the origin stories and seem to be in demand. They also seem to be a good and more affordable alternative to the originals. For example, instead of X-Men #1, how about Marvel Tales Annual 2 from 1965 that retells the X-men and Dr Strange origins? These books can still be pricey, but no where near the originals.
