Between Cyndi and Madonna, clearly Cyndi is a class all her own. Madonna does not even come close.

Cyndi is actually a singer. Madonna is a popstar which is why she's constantly changing who she is even in her music today. Yes you grow with the times Cyndi did it as well but authentically throughout her vocal is always top notch.

@@RetroMMA It’s a tender and emotional love song that emphasizes the intimacy and constancy of love. The song explores the idea of being there for someone throughout the night, symbolizing unwavering support, connection, and devotion. In the lyrics, Lauper describes a relationship where two people find solace and comfort in each other, creating a sense of timelessness and unity. The refrain suggests that their love endures beyond the challenges of the day, offering peace and reassurance through the night. It’s a simple yet powerful ode to love’s enduring nature and the deep bond shared between two people.

This song makes me think of my mum. The day she is finally clinging for dear life, knowing there would be minutes just to go and become part of the universe. I'll be there for her to hold her hand until her last breath, singing this song and "Wind beneath my wings", because I owe her everything I am. My mum has been a sainr, a martir, a victim. But more than anything she has been a blessing for my family SE IS THE BESR MUM IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE COSMOS. Love you forever and always mama.

She has to be one of the best singer-songwriters in the music industry. I absolutely adore her. I grew up listening to her music and dancing like a fool to all her catchy tunes. She's still a firecracker that few were able to keep up with. This song is one of my favorites.
@Acoustic-Rabbit-Hole3 жыл бұрын
Cyndi Lauper wrote more with friends as a team, and a lot of her hits were not her own. But she was legit, like with "Time After Time." Madonna didn't write much of ANY of her songs. True PROLIFIC female songwriters would be like, Cheryl Crow, Stevie Nice, Alanis Morissette, Dolly Parton. But Cyndi also had that original VOICE as well; which also makes her stand out.

“All Through The Night” (1983) was authored by Jules Shear, who also penned the Bangles’ “If She Knew What She Wants” (1986). This was the fourth track from Cindy Lauper’s debut album, “She’s So Unusual.” What was quite unusual about the tune was that it didn’t have a music video. Lauper was huge on MTV thanks to “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.” Even without a video, “All Though The Night” reached #5 in the USA, proving that the redhead artist was more than just a video star❕ Cyn’s producer brought the song to her; she loved it and recorded it. When it reached #5 on the Hot 100, Miss Lauper became THE FIRST WOMAN in the history of the chart TO TAKE FOUR SINGLES from the same LP to the top 5❕ [“Girls Just Want To Have Fun” - #2; “Time After Time” - #1; “She Bop” - #3; “All Through The Night” - #5.] Soon, the iconic “chanteuse” Nana Mouskouri not only did a cover version of “All Through The Night” (1974) but she also released it in French and German. And that speaks volumes, since the Greek diva performs only the best of the best‼️ 💙🎼💚
