I think you'll actually find that this cover is a tribute to John Lennon, not for profit whatsoever. Why are so many so against covers? It's quite pathetic, no one's saying you have to like it but at least respect a talented artist that just wants to play tribute to one of their favourite musicals/bands.

It doesn't show on this song, I'll admit that, but seriously. Anyone who knows a whit about music has to admit, even if they're not a fan, that she's talented.

I couldn't disagree more with you two blokes! This cover is fab. In fact, I never gave Cindi much credit until I saw this take because she came out of such a lousy pop music scene in the eighties. This however is stellar and the true emotion of it pours out palpably! John would really dig this.

I have always wished that Cyndi Lauper had had the chance of expressing herself through material like this rather than the fluff she's known for. I like the fluff; it's great fluff, but she has the talent for more substantial songs like this.

I don't get why people try and compare tributes to the original singer. Just learn to enjoy something for what is it. If it's horrible because the singer has no talent then I can understand saying it's horrible. But, that's def not the case here.

i thought the same at first. like "try to sing the song as its recorded or leave it, its a masterpiece" but then i thought "well, she can sing, why not . better than the freakin´greenday or marilyn manson versions" but she should actually sing the words as they were written plus there is ABSOLUTELY no reason for this heynanaheynanahee choir in my opinion... and noone ever gets HIS groove. just too stiff . . .
