Ermmmm....hate to be pedantic and point it out to you, but when Nic was in ND, they were hardly playing at the same rapid rate of knots as this drummer does (he was in the bands Y and Solid Decline too). So I fail to see the comparison of crust punk and the style that Cyness do in 2002.

@@Heresy1987 depends on how you're looking at it, bands like Doom Massgrave Capitalist Casualties had unique traits when it came to playing punk style. Simply heavy chords and the steady punk beat we get from early modern hardcore give it that punk sound, like black flag/bad brains/minor threat punk but heavier. That's how I interpreted what sounds crust punk in grindcore lol I hear it in plenty of other subgenres such as powerviolence fastcore sludge crossover thrash death heavy metal ect
