I think cyoubx makes some really good points, but his points don't make me think that those mechanisms are necessarily worse than the traditional screw-spring, but just ones made for convenience, with the trade-off being the "lack" of options. It isn't an issue for me, but it could actually be an issue for someone else, but it really depends on how someone uses it or if you just like to set up cubes.

I don't know if the point of the numerical IPG is consistency from one XS to another. I think more importantly, it's consistent with other sides of the same cube. So if you decide you like the 0.6 setting with 2nd click of spring compression, then you can set that to be identical for all 6 sides. You can also re-setup your cube to the exact same settings if you disassemble your cube for cleaning. I think that's a lot more relevant use case than people trying to match multiple XS cubes to each other.

@Marcel MayerDid you swap it with the longer springs or the shorter springs?
@anm2x4 жыл бұрын
@Marcel Mayer I also watched the same video but I couldn't understand whether Phil meant. Does thinner mean the the width or the height of the spring? And as for the longer (taller) springs, I got it mixed up with the default springs and I am having a hard time trying to tell them apart.
@anm2x4 жыл бұрын
@Marcel Mayer Honestly I think it's the cube and not the springs because I've tried every single spring and even added additional washers but when I tried to piece the cube together with only the magnets attraction and no core there was a big gap between a single corner piece and edge piece. Kind of disappointing because I really liked the feel of the cube but this design issue makes me not want to use it.
@anm2x4 жыл бұрын

@RealNaoh4 жыл бұрын
Even if that does happen, then why won’t that company make a flagship cube that is just an upgrade of the budget cube? At a high level small changes or deficiencies in performance can waste a lot of time. Example: the RS3M. Great, but the WRM 2020 is basically an upgrade for that. But when you’re not that fast, more top-tier cubes won’t affect you much, if at all.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but moyu's dual adjustment system is not used to make reproducible tensions, but to make it so that u can change either the flexibility and the pressure on the spring (turning the screw head), or to change JUST the pressure on the spring (using the plastic blue thing). This allows you to make your cube faster or slower without sacrificing the stability of your cube (flexing, corner cutting). I'm getting an xs soon, so I will see if this is the case for the ges system, or if you are right and it is essentially useless.

I think instead of how much corner cutting it can do, it should be what is reasonable size of corner cut and how easy is it to corner cut? Here the xs in my opinion does very well because if u have a large corner cut of 45 degrees your turning needs some work.
