I am always amazed at mr. katsaris. The level of finesse and technical perfection is hitherto un-achieved by any other. Yes, there are amazing pianists everywhere both alive and dead with tremendous talents, musicianship, technique, expression , but mr.Katsaris somehow manages to put the final touches of perfection even above that. I don't always agree with his interpretation but that is irrelevant. The fact remains.

I cannot describe how much he perfected the actual sound of literally anything he plays.

Beautiful!!! Thank you very much. My favorite piano pice from Chopin. My father love to play and preformed Chopin piano pieces in the early 1940`s 50`s.

I keep watching this again to try and fix the fine motor parts in mine when I play. I think I am somewhat close, but this one is in a different position.

Check his Masterclass on this piece he gave, it’s in French but subtitles are in the comments in English, seems like it could help you learn this

if I’m not mistaken it’s exactly the version that’s been used by Chopin himself- he added variations of this nocturne in his favourite pupil’s sheet music.There are quite a few of them. See Koczalski’s playing and Eigeldinger’s book.

Well done, but there is a reason this has 10k views. No grace in this performance. Too many added notes, and unnecessary showmanship.
@findelka1810 Жыл бұрын
While there IS an aspect of showmanship in Katsaris, it’s worth noting that Chopin used this piece in his lessons as an ornamentation exercise. There are many versions which survived in pupil’s sheet music- some of them were written there by Chopin himself.(See Koczalski’s version who plays some of these variations and read Eigeldinger’s book about Chopin.)

This statement from @ThePianoMan1 is such a joke. There is no evidence at all that the reason this video only has 10k views is due to a certain feature of the performance. That claim assumes that KZbin video views are proportional to their quality or merit. By that measure, the most important music is trashy pop music, with millions of views. Everyone should disregard this facile and sophomoric statement about this astonishingly musical and brilliant performance from Cyprien Katsaris.
