True the two communities have lived peacefully since the 17th century when the turkishcypriot community started to be a separated thing from the rest of the people, but yet traditionally and historically both communities used to dance and sing the same music in the same language the cypriot dialect of the greek language (since the majority of the turkishcypriots were speaking natively and as a first language the cypriot dialect of the greek language and not turkish) the first traditional cypriot songs that were used with turkish lyrics came after 1974 in an effort by turkey to make something like un-hellenization of the turkishcypriots and also for practical reasons because the communities were separated for years and they stopped having connections with each other and the turkishcypriots started to speak turkish as their first language instead of greek (the cypriot dialect actually) because their education was forced to be isolated learning only turkish.

Yes but the Turks in the north are not what was used to called the minority of "Turkish-Cypriots" . Since they were forced to go to Turkey after the war. The Turks on the North are Turks from South Turkey that came here just so Erdogan could have "claims" in Cyprus. (Just wanted to tell that, I don't have anythingwrong with your comment)

@gokce48842 жыл бұрын
@@irinasergian1122 I am Turkish. The DNA structure of Turks living in Anatolia is closer to Greek, Armenian, Kurdish, Syriac and Arabic. We know that most of us are actually Turkified and Islamized Eastern Roman peoples. For this reason, the physical characteristics of Turks living in Anatolia do not resemble those of Central Asians. It looks more like Western Asia and Southern Europe.
@irinasergian11222 жыл бұрын
@@gokce4884 Yes. Even the fact that the DNA testing has a description "Anatolian", as a specific, unique fragment of a genome, tells us, that there is no way it's possible to differentiate between ethnic groups living in Anatolia.

Τhe vast majority of ''Turkish Cypriots ''are ex christian Cypriots and Maronites and many Latins who converted to Islam during Ottoman period. In Cyprous there are villages with christian names (f.e Agios Epfanios, Agios Ioannis) with muslim population. In the region of Pafos Turkish Cupriots spoke only in a greek Cypriot dialect. Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots have the same blood.

Zaman Fu!!! Do you really believe this nonsense? Haven't any Turks been to this island 65 km away from Turkey since 1570? What is this head of?
@tobiasboston7795 Жыл бұрын
@@babaeren62 It's true, though not exactly as he says. Turkish and greek cypriots are genetically very close, with turkish cypriots having some anatolian and turkoman admixture, and of course mainland turks who moved to Cyprus throughout the years also played a role in their genetic make up. The latin and maronite admixtures as he says are very low. But regardless, turkish cypriots are turks, it's up to them to be whatever they want, not to foreigners. They speak turkish, have turkish culture, feel turkish, voilla, they are turkish, the end. That's true for every ethnic group out there, genetics don't play a role.
