For this song, I like to think that the girl in blue created the whole medieval story by writing it, since there are papers scattered around the picture. She then allowed her friend, the girl in red, to read it, since she gave her such a big part in the story. That's how I like to think of it.

I think, now just hear me out on this one, that this is more of a timeline set particularly somewhere in Europe, maybe even Japan, this is due to the clothing, which if I remember was very prominent even way back when. I'm sticking with the modern era theory, seeing that it would be more comfortable since I live in that era. These two are descendants of Iris and Rosebal, kept by their promise and strong bond when they were children. It's not an alternate timeline per se, but more of a fulfilled promise between two really *really* close people (coughthey'regaycough). Seeing as the title is "Alternative", I guess I might as well include the other side of the theories for this as well. It could also be a timeline where Rosebal either didn't open the codex or learnt to control it, seeing as it might just have given her powers. Now she lives peacefully among her subjects and the war between the two kingdoms never happened, and she found her Queen within her childhood friend. Seriously, I'm shipping these two way too hard.

Everything everyone has to say so far sounds good - to put it all together, I believe by 'Alternative' being an alternate timeline, or a timeline that is not directly connected to their own. This can be showing the future of another timeline that they have together, writing what appears to look like music (and if you'd like to think so, could be the story between the two girls). But otherwise, friends. It's somewhat of a good ending.

1st Song, they were childhood friends from different families. Kinda like Romeo and Juliet, but with girls. (Sad there's no Yuri doe.) 2nd Song, the Blue-haired one was given a Holy Knight's honor/oath, and apparently, their enemy was the Red-haired one's family. So she had no choice. But she didn't take part in the war. (Shown in the third song.) 3rd, this is where sh*t goes down. The Holy Order (I GAVE IT A NAME OKAY) persecuted the Red's family. Nuff said. She gained hatred and anger from that, of course. And she wanted revenge. 4th, She found a source of limitless power, maybe a book. (Maybe? :3) And therefore uses it to reclaim what she lost. Power. She succumbed to the temptation, and... Well. Boom. 5th, Knight of Firmament, is literally Knight of the Sky or Heavens. So, she's deemed and now known as a member of the Knights of the good guys. Not a commander, because of the subtitle (The Chevalier, which means the lowest rank of the Knights in French.) 6th, Reddie's gotten an upgrade. She retrieved her lost throne and now rules her kingdom with an Iron fist, heated by the searing hot flames of her rage and agony. 7th, a letter was delivered to the Knights, saying something like dominating them. So, upcoming war. Yay. 8th, they both encounter each other on the battlefield, and engage in (Not steaming hot Yuri, aww.) thrilling combat. Who knew? 9th, the Denouement. The problem's been solved, and the Tyrannical leader has been taken down, as well as her troops. Reddie died by the hand of her Best Friend. (Former.) 10th, Paradox. What if it was all some kind of fantasy? This is what you'd expect. (Supported by the subtitle, Alternate.)

My theory : this alternate version is not actually an alternate version. There is no alternate version of the story. They rebirth and wrote a story about the story in Chapter K when they still doesn't have a job and when they find for job, they become detective {as shown in one of the song in Chapter M (Genesys)}

It is better to be happening in an alternative universe or those two in this picture happen to be the descendants of Iris and Rosebal (But not that possible I think because, in that case, the name "Alternative" doesn't make sense).
