I'm willing to bet he even introduced himself as "A traveling merchant" when he talked to Marshal Hua too.

True, and traveling merchant tends to imply that they are independent, with no set roots. The Whistling Flames Guild and other Xianzhou merchant guilds are affiliated with the Xianzhou and likely have a headquarters to return to within the Xianzhou Alliance.

I think a lot of us got the vibe that Sunday was going to join the astral express (albeit as a passenger rather then a true member like Stelle/Caelus) but I liked it was slowly dripped that Sunday was trying to find his own path away from the Order and Harmony

No… the thing is. If you have known about certain thing, there’s actually A LOT of story leaked content that people say “are theories”. But this thing has been leaked FOR AGES. And people slowly came up with the “theory” when it was literally just them telling everyone leaked content without saying it. This has happened for multiple leaked story spoilers. People disguise their leaked story knowledge as “theories” and put it for everyone to see and it spreads like wild fire.

2:22:23 God, I already love Welt. But this made me love him even more. To have so much faith in humanity despite everything he'd been through (in HI3) is admirable. They really chose a perfect character for Sunday to guide him on taking that step for a new start. And 2.7 really fleshes out Sunday's complexities, making him fascinating as a character.

This reminds me of Welt's talk with Acheron as he mentions the 'man' from his homeland. I'm sure Welt saw some similarities with that man (Kevin, for those who know HI3) and Sunday. Because I can see Cy had that confusion when Welt said Sunday is one of his Trailblazing goals. It probably just meant that since his goal is for 'every being under stars', he sees potential in Sunday and wanted to help him find his path. (Which makes Welt so much more wonderful for that 😭)

It was the scene at the park, fixing problem caused by giving a literal child complete control over a theme park, that really made me warm up to Sunday. This man had a terrible upbringing, where his childish controlling impulses were not only never corrected but actually encouraged to groom him for The Order. Lead down an incorrect path since childhood, manipulated, sheltered from reality - it's no wonder he ended up a megalomaniac. The way getting knocked down off his perch made him question his beliefs, and at least begin to self correct ... he's just fascinating and I hope we get more of him.

2.7 wasn’t for everyone but I like it was shorter. It felt like a nice conclusion to Sunday arc in Penacony and a reintroduction of Tingyun who became Fugue (even though in game she is still called Tingyun)

I know 2.3 was meant to be the epilogue of the Penacony storyline but 2.7 felt like the real conclusion. I guess it’s because Sunday was a major focus of the story this time and as the antagonist from the Penacony arc, his ending and departure from his home was meant to be just as important.

100% agree. What I like about Penacony arc is their definition of Nihility. Nihility is not “haha i’m depressed” as generally understood but it’s the state of not-being (“Dormancy”) like that of a near standstill at the event horizon of a black hole.

As for the part where fugue and ruan mei are talking to one another. We know ruan mei can touch someone, analyze them and interact with them through that touch. The quotation marks and what she is seeing is all in her head. None of this is physically being said rather it is Ruan Mei guiding her and helping her through her inner trauma. All of what she is seeing is Ruan Mei's ability to guide others to choose to live on or not. That's my opinion and seems most logical.

@@zantlucifer Yeah. I think Dan Heng, Himeko & both TB won't have EN voicelines again. I also checked it. There's no battle voice lines for RMC 😭 (only Mem has voice). And based on the recent Amphoreus trailer, it's clear that all Amphoreus characters has EN voices. At least I hope Robin's voice gets added on the Sunday quest. If not, I don't have a choice but to voice them myself & do the quest 🥲

1. It was funny how Himeko left them alone for a little while and Welt adopted another child and they messed up Tingyuan (Fugue) 😂 2. Did you not realise that 2.2 was an entire philosophical thing about pre-determinism and free will… in this game it’s especially prevalent as an idea when a character like Elio is shaping the entire universe’s future because they know the multiple possibilities of the future and what people will do. Elio likely could’ve picked a line where Sunday didn’t do that… so at which point do the characters really have free will in this game? Because their futures are pre-determined but Sunday had to be the one so they could uncover the stellaron and contain it… It’s why the MC is so important because they’re likely the one character outside of Elio’s script and they were also part of the Stellaron Hunters prior to their memory wipe so they knew Elio would succeed in choosing the right path that led them to success. The characters aren’t outside Elio’s script. At which point do many even have free will? Sunday’s entire thing in 2.2 was creating a paradise that “satisfied” the people within the dream, the use of the satisfied emotion means something more than happy, it means that their desires are satisfied. Sunday believes people are the consequence of circumstance and he’s pretty much right psychologically, a large contribution of a person becoming who they are is because of nature and nurture which are factors you largely can’t control. This means creating a dream and being able to fully satiate desires people have and give them their perfect environment where they don’t worry about survival, then they will grow into the best version of themselves. That’s why he was talking about the strong exploiting the weak so they could gain self value, but this will lead to the weak doing anything to survive and meaning they become worse people and they can do nothing but watch it happen or exploit weaker people and only those fit for survival in that kind of environment will succeed. This made up concept of value is no different from a dream… they’re both made up by the human psyche… there’s not much difference because people already live in their own fantasy by making concepts up about themselves and giving themselves purpose, Sunday saw this and decided to just make a perfect place to live… really it’s not different, the people in HSR have almighty gods that can do whatever to shape the universe whenever and people can see the future because of the Finality and just dictate their future for them… so you may as well pick the nicest choice. People get so caught up about the fact that “it’s a dream, I don’t want to live in a dream” when that detail changes basically nothing about the situation, the dream is basically just a better universe at that point… because it’s just the person living their most liked time line and seen by Ena’s dream. The problem was that Sunday forced everyone into it and it was a stellaron although that’s pretty much the same in the universe as is even without Ena’s dream… so basically nothing actually happened. You either stay in the current universe where you basically control nothing, or live in a self-created dream that your brain responds favourably to and you live in bliss while there’s someone above you controlling said dream. Pick your poison, nothing really actually changed between reality and the dream. You could say Sunday was also a victim of circumstance, he had this knowledge but that’s what he saw as right with the knowledge he had. He was a person that saw the worst of humanity as he was a priest and he found out how the human mind works and came up with a solution by creating a perfect paradise for them, curated for each individual to satiate them. He used what he had to do what he thought was right, he wasn’t exposed to other ideas and we know that you can only grow with certain ideas if you’re exposed to them and Sunday wasn’t because his circumstances raised him to be pessimistic. He literally couldn’t have done better because he didn’t get the right environment for it because all the choices he made that led to a bad outcome was because he was not in control of the end and he blamed himself for the actions of others. At which point does the intent outweigh the consequences? Saying outright that Sunday is a bad person definitely isn’t it though. That lacks any nuance at all especially when your first instinct is to throw out “delusional” constantly to… idk who, you stated Sunday but said “if they’re” who is the they… the people that did want to live in the dream? there’s nothing wrong with that, people ingest human made content that isn’t real and it brings them enjoyment or create their own worth that they need to fulfil which would be equally delusional, that’s why fantasy exits… unless you’re still saying it’s “delusional” just because you think it should be called such in which you’re really no different from Sunday trying to dictate which is “delusional” or not for others. You seem to not get the character, he isn’t malicious, or even delusional… he was just wrong. He didn’t see himself as deserving to be a god to control the people. He just wanted to use the power to do something, he couldn’t care less about the god aspect, he doesn’t even care about Aeons they’re just there and they can be used as tools the help people.
