CZ’s are bad ass...I picked up the 75b Omega and have it setup as a decocker. It’s a great addition to my 75d PCR!

Thanks for showing it. This model is exactly the one I'm looking for myself, the CZ75-BD. Like you, I prefer a decocking lever, though I often carry a 1911 in Condition 1. I never have worried about weapons made in Czechoslovakia. When you look over the history of arms made in Europe for the past several hundred years, you'll notice Czechoslovakia has been an icon for quality from handguns to tanks. It was one of the big reasons Hitler wanted to occupy that country. Back in the day, my favorite military bolt action to use to make a sporter rifle from was a Czech small ring Mauser action. There were none better.

According to WB Smith "Small Arms of the World" 11 German divisions in 1940 were equipped with Czech arms and vehicles to invade France. Kharma is harsh, the double cross at Munich 1938 was avenged that there were those additional invaders enabled with those weapons against the Allies.

Great review. I bought the same model a couple years ago and love it. I put some VZ grips on it (black cherry frag pattern). They are made of G10 and are slimmer, which helps with my small hands.

LOOOVE this gun!!!! Out of all the CZ’s the 75 BD is their very best in my opinion! But two clarifications need to be made in this video…. The CZ 75 is only the most copied gun because there never was a patent placed on the gun back in 1975 with the western “free” world. It was a mistake that the Soviet Union completely blundered on. Second point is that the CZ 75 is NOT the #1 firearm for world police departments. That honor goes to the Glock 19 and Glock 17. Been that way for nearly 20 years now.

Nice review! I picked up a CZ 75DB about 6 months ago and it is a fantastic handgun. I've put 1150 rounds through it with zero malfunctions. The fit and feel in the hand is second to none and I it's great for shooting at the range. I shoot more accurately with this gun than with my Sig P226, my Glock 17 (gen 2), or my Beretta 92FS. And, frankly, it is more fun to shoot than any of them. There was initially a bit of grit on the SA pull but after about 200 rounds it became exceptionally smooth with just a bit of trigger creep. I much prefer the decocker over the safety of the "B".

Hi! I was a exactly looking for a person like you - the owner of CZ, Sig and Beretta. Need your advice. I am thinking of buying either CZ75ВD or Sig P226 or Beretta 92. Favoring CZ because of the price. But regardless of the cost which of these three handguns would you recommend as a first gun?! It is for home defense and shooting range shooting. I am not going to carry it concealed. Just want to get know shooting and how to deal with gun, so need to start with some decent comfortable and reliable device. Thank so much in advance. Good luck

Is cz 75 BD drop free magazine without having to pull out the magazine? does it drop freely after you press the magazine release button or you have to pull it out the magazine with your hand ?
@ChaohsiangChen3 жыл бұрын
Mine drops mags free.
@motorradmike Жыл бұрын
There is a flat spring blade in the magazine well protecting the hammer spring which the magazine rides on. Take the grips off and simply remove the spring blade and flatten it if you must have your magazine fully drop by themselves.

I’m puzzled as to why people have such a negative view on Czech weapons. If you follow history, the Czechs having been making some of the highest quality and innovative designs, since WWI. For instance, the Bren gun is of Czech design.

why do you prefer the decocker instead of cocked and locked...

Plus lots of cops have shot themselves in the legs with short triggers. People might scoff at that and think, "HA!--stupid cops! That'll never happen to me!!" until they get punched in the face, and it fucking happens to them as they try deploying their handgun in self-defense.

I guess I have slightly larger than average size hands. With medical exam gloves, the large ones fit me best, but they're still a little loose on me. The mediums are a bit too tight. I guess one way of finding out if this will fit me well would be to hold a Glock 19, since they're very close in size. No gun stores near me have CZ's. :/

I have the CZ PCR, and it was my winter-wear CCW, but I replaced it. I like the CZ decockers, but peeps who get one have to really, really, really train in it's firing if they use it for home defense because of the dramatic change in trigger pull between the initial decocked DA pull to the second round in SA. It's a tremendous thing to get used to. No other of my handguns present this issue as they are all either striker-fired semis or revolvers.
@kimleith13783 жыл бұрын
Any tips on dry fire training to overcome the DA to SA difference?
@bobg16853 жыл бұрын
@Kim Leith: no tips, really. It's more of a development of muscle memory, I suppose. The decocked trigger pull is long and hard (heh-heh) but after that first round the slide cocks the hammer and you can't stage the trigger like you did at first. Trigger pull #2 is now like any other s/a handgun at around three pounds (vs 8-10 lbs for the first pull.) This is just something you have to get used to. It's not a big deal if you're doing adrenalized fire in defense of your life, but I found the differences in trigger pull can catch you off guard. My CZ is now a well-oiled safe queen.

@@bobg1685 Been dry firing with a snap cap and a rubber stopper to protect the firing pin.
@bobg16853 жыл бұрын
@Kim: I don't think dry firing is necessarily helpful much. Sure, it's good to dry fire with snap caps to work on your trigger control, but a gun like this doesn't really benefit much in the way a revolver does. You and the gun will benefit from live fire. Get 50 rounds, spend them on targets, clean it and you'll be good.

I agree with you 120% about the "cocked and locked." A grip safety makes it ok with the 1911. I don't see how it is safe enough for a gun without a grip safety. It's not just in your head. It is a fact. Also, people tend to make it sound like you can't carry the safety model in DA. The DA/SA action is exactly like the decocker model.

The 75 is a great gun but CZ likes to engage in "creative marketing" The five most widely issued (by number of countries issuing them) military/police service pistols are: 1. FN hipower (82 countries) 2. Glock 17/19 (62 countries) 3. Beretta 92 (46 countries) 4. Sig p226 (33 countries) 5. Beretta px4 (32 countries) The cz75 is issued in maybe a half dozen countries currently.
