Thanks for that instructional video. I have recently purchased a CZ75 SP01 Shadow and I have cleaned it only once, shot it only once as well. In particular it was good to know I should hold the slide at 45 degrees so no cleaning fluid penetrates the firing mechanism. With my previous CZ 75 no one told me that. I kinda figured it out for myself. So I have found this video most interesting and useful. Thanks again.

"New' (to me) trick: if you pull the hammer to 1/2 -cock, it works as a 'back-stop' to match the lines when you ease the slide backf or disassembly.

Look up Redline CV2 synthetic grease.Just a couple of toothpick points goes a long long way. Spread it with the tip of the toothpick down the rails around the barrel and channel lock. Works great.

Try a little synthetic wheel bearing grease cheap by the pound.on the slide. It stays where you put it. Just a dab on the rails and use a tooth pick to spread it use a drop on the barrel roll it around and a drop on the channel lock of the barrel. Old saying goes if it rotates use oil if it slides use grease.

Thanks for the advice Arthur. I used grease before...It did stay where I put it but it took al longer time to clean and collected a lot of dirt...Old sayings do hold a lot of truth so thanks a lot and best regards.J

Thanks for the very thorough video. New to care of the CZ SP-01. Rail system and many friction points mean that the CZ requires much more lubrication than my Glock and will necessarily accumulate more crud. Noticed that you didn't lubricate on either side of the trigger where it goes into the housing. Curious how often you do a complete disassembly and clean? Do you then use brake cleaner?
@Jeremiahfull
@Jeremiahfull 8 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. I do a basic field strip and cleaning as described in this video. Every 2500 rounds or so I do a complete disassembly and clean. I take my time for that . You could speed up this process by using ultrasonic cleaning bath. That also works quite well. I never use brake cleaner.I use Ballistol for cleaning barrel, frame and all the insides . Afterwards I use light gun oil for lubing (Safariland breakfree or Shooterschoice FP10 or any other brand) will - in my opinion- do just fine for lubing on a thight fitting pistol. Regards

Thanks for the Video. I am a fairly new owner of a Shadow and it's my fav. among all my hand guns. Do you need a special rod for the VFG cleaning pellets? They seem hard to find. Thanks again.
@Jeremiahfull
@Jeremiahfull 8 жыл бұрын
Nope no special cleaning rod required. Just like the one you would use on a .22 . Or 5,56. Just unscrew part of it. And screw in the VFG Rifle Cleaners. cal.9,3 mm. Item number 66864. You can buy them in boxes containing 500 pieces each. It is made in Germany so they could indeed be rare overseas.Best Regards and thanks for watching!

Take the gun apart and toss the gun parts in some Simple Green PRO HD. It's the same as the aircraft formula but half the price.The purple formula and hot water. Soak 10 mins. Scrub with a toothbrush. Rinse with clean hot water dry it with cloth or hair dryer and lube it up. This is how the American Gun Institute and many Gunsmiths clean guns.

Hi, i don"t lube my gun, but i only shoot 150bullets a month, how often do you think i should lube it ? I'm putting balistol everywhere
@Jeremiahfull
@Jeremiahfull 8 жыл бұрын
Hey there Jaime. With a name like that I would expect you to be more of a sword slinging kinda guy than a gun slinger :-) My advice is only based on what works for me...I'm a bit of a freak and I clean it each time I shot it... Using Ballistol only is not all that bad but you'll get more wear.I use it only for cleaning barrel,frame ,slide and all the internals & externals.I would suggest using some greas or oil on all the moving parts...Where metal slides over metal there is friction and that's where you lube... You can go on like you are doing now and probably won't have any problem but I would use some light gun grease or some quality gun oil after each cleaning session. Ballistol evaporates rather quick. Best Regards. J

thickest royal purple synthetic oil is the best thing to use to lube your fire arms,it's about 10 bucks a quart and will last years and years on alot of guns..just fill up your old little oil bottle and there you go...best stuff on the planet imo.

+mike 007 Thanks for commenting and sharing opinion Mike. I used shooters choice all weather ht gun grease on moving parts such as the locking luggs on the barrel. I stopped using it. I use only Ballistol for cleaning and only CLP Breakfree for lubing

where did you get the grips?
@Jeremiahfull
@Jeremiahfull 8 жыл бұрын
You can buy these thin checkered Alu grips (short for use with magwell or long for use on the stock gun) on the CZ online shop or on IPSC.EU if you are in Europe. You can also find them on Double Alpha. You can put them on the Tactical Sports and on the Shadow. Best Regards.

what brush do you use? why did you say not a copper brush? hats wrong with copper brush?
@Jeremiahfull
@Jeremiahfull 8 жыл бұрын
I use nylon brushes, ... Nothing wrong with a copper brush...I just don't use copper brushes except for when the barrel is really really dirty and I need something more abbrasive then synthetic brushes to get the dirt out of those lands and grooves . I usually clean after each shooting session so I don't need to use my copper brushes very often :-) Best Regards

check out Krytox grease for your slide --- expensive but a little goes a long way and it does not break down or flow at high temp. NASA sent this into space on the shuttles --- sad ending there but not because of their lubricants --- good luck --- I hoard my Krytox like a beast ; ).

Hi. So then would you NOT suggest using the brass bristle brush to scrub out the barrel bore?? Why not? I use it on mine & I hope I am not damaging my bore?? Or by the way you do have a beautiful wrist watch. What Kind is it? I'm looking for a new one & I'd appreciate your recommendation. Just Subed, Just Liked.
@Jeremiahfull
@Jeremiahfull 9 жыл бұрын
Buzz Clark Hi there Buzz, I don't think you will damage your barrel with a brass brush. I can only relate to my own cleaning process and I only use the brass brush when it is like really, really dirty and when you haven't cleaned it for a while. I tend to clean after every shooting session, but when I haven't I leave some ballistol in there overnight and clean it in the morning. It then only requires a good nylon brush and some patches. What I do isthe following ;Nylon brush, Ballistol, soaking, nylon brush and patches soaked in ballistol or remoil patches and one dry cotton patch to finish. Thanks for liking and subbing, much appreciated. The wrist watch is a Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman with a titanium strap :-) Regards.

Buzz Clark Forgot to mention this ; some brass brushes tend to leave tiny pieces of brass in the action and that is the main reason I do not use them for rubbing. I only use brass inside the barrel when it is really dirty. Regards. J

+Jeremiahfull's Shooting Sports Channel Maybe he's one of those people that kind of half-cleans his guns, just to keep it from gooing-up too much. I see from your video that you like running it *really* clean and nicely lubed, which is the way I like it too. Not saying that everybody should thought, I think I enjoy cleaning my guns to perfection a _little too much_, if you know what I'm saying, which I hope you don't :winky-wink: Anyways, I liked your video.
@Jeremiahfull
@Jeremiahfull 8 жыл бұрын
+xithappens That's right...I'm like you :-) I enjoy shooting more than cleaning ,but I like to keep my guns clean and nicely lubed.Typically, I never shoot a brand new gun out of the box. I take it apart first and after taking of all storage & factory grease I re- lube it and shoot it. Further more; I clean it every time I've shot it. Basic field strip that is. And a full dissassembly cleaning session every 2000 rounds or so.Not so with my .22 rifles and almost never with my air rifles because of scope zero, but other than those I want my guns to be clean inside the safe. A bit of a freak on that I'm afraid :-) But I never have any issues ever, no FTF,FTE or any other stuff going wrong on matches.

***** Yeah I get teased at my gun club for taking so much time to clean mine and how I won't go home until it's done lol, but is not me the one with all the malfunctions and the subsequent dumb-face looking at their slides out of battery. "Why does this keep happening to this gun??" ... Get it clean, I say, "but I did, you saw me clean it" they say and I respond "no you didn't, you just scrubbed it a couple of times but it's full of goo and shit". Good times :)
@Jeremiahfull
@Jeremiahfull 8 жыл бұрын
That sounds familiar to me buddy :-) I ALWAYS take it home after shooting and clean it, the next day at the latest. Some guys just won't learn do they :-). I have two small kids and a wife :-) Thus, it's not always easy to get the time to go out and shoot and on top of that take some time afterwards to clean and lube. But IMHO it is worth every penny and part of being a gun owner. Happiness is a warm gun, ...and a clean gun when the heat is off :-) Best Regards and thanks for commenting.
