SP-01 is the most comfortable pistol I have. T. Sports is a slippery block of wood as far as my opinion. I took the nice grips off the sp01, and they were thicker than the ts wood garbage grips. I need to figure out something for the ts grip situation. Cz custom wants almost 100 for their aluminum thin grip tape grip.

Glocked 17 I moved my LOKGRIPS over to it & boy my hands lock in tight & on my LOKGRIPS I Order the big palm swells like the factory SP-01 are but a G-10 see my vid on my LOKGRIPS there great and cheaper than VZ & I think better, milled perfectly! TRprepper this one starts as double action On 1st pull then into single action. Or I can rack it & hit the decocker & it goes into a half cocked position for a lighter & shorter first DA pull. This is the Tactical version it has the decocker, the non tactical version is a single action only with a saftey & no decocker. TFW & Carry On!

TRprepper Most SA models only you have to pinch the hammer & lower it down but when fired then they still only fire in SA, because there a SA only pistol.

I went to my local gun store last weekend for a glock sale. Saw this gun sitting at the end of the cabinet collecting dust for $630 and didn't think anything about it. Just as a note, the SP-01 non-tactical (safety) version is not single action only. It's also double action/single action, but to achieve double action the hammer must manually be lowered.

Great gun, good review, but, the CZ 75 SP01 non tactical is not SAO. It's an SA/DA with a frame mounted safety. The only difference is the tactical has a de-cocker vs. a safety

These are absolutely fantastic pistols. Too heavy for carry (for me), but a great HD, service, range or competition gun. I found one in my local shop so I snatched it up ($599+tax) along with a Kadet .22 conversion ($399+tax, I know right?). $1000 later, I have no regrets whatsoever. Liked it so juch I went back and bought the Rami he had, lol.

Just easier than trying to hit that tiny safety blade with my large thumbs in a panic situation. If it was a large safety blades offered on some 1911’s or the S2 it would be better. I guess I was lucky yesterday...I was at my LGS picking up my HK USP LEM from an Internet purchase and asked if they had anything new (as I wanted to avoid a NIC check fee). I just bought the same gun but it has a different brand name on it. It's a Tristar P100. It's an exact clone as the SP-01. I have owned an SP-01 and I sold mine cause a friend just had to have it and gave me good money for it but I did regret selling it. However, after doing a lot of research, this Tristar P100 is as reliable and accurate as the CZ. You might want to check them out.

The difference the SS guide rod makes is imperceptible, especially on a metal CZ. The job of the guide rod is to make sure the recoil spring doesn't kink to the side under compression. A lot of folks like them because they perceive the steel rod to be higher quality but I don't think there's any performance gains there.

Have you shot it yet??? It really has been my favorite of all my guns. I have not shot mine though in a couple of months as it is off getting tuned up. Love your choice in weapons, very close to mine. Check out Triple K manufacturing they do some real nice wood grips that I put on mine, even has CZ logo on the grip. Got checkered European walnut.
