Over the last year I've bought 3 of them . They have been unfairly judged as being crude and outdated . With that being said , I have found them to be very reliable , durable , and well built I am lucky enough to find one with the original sight .. if you buy one with the crappy rear sight and you see an original metal sight ....BUY IT! The original metal sites are extremely hard to come by in North America.

That was actually my father's service pistol and first firearm I had contact with. I just want to point out the fact that @0:23 mark you said "Chez Zastava" wich isn't correct. The name of the Yugoslavian and later Serbian(Serbia was a part of Yugoslavia) weapons factory is actually "Crvena Zastava" or "Red flag" translated. It has nothing to do with Chez CZ. All the best!

I picked up a m70 pistol a few months ago and I love it. First thing I did was getting rid of that ridiculously large rear sight and looking for the originals. Apparently they can be hard to find in the wild, however I did find a 3D printed sight on ebay.

I just purchased a mint CZ 70! You may want to review that one along with the CZ 52. Love these heavy "Cold War" guns. The heavy weight deadens the recoil. CZ adopted a "wave" pattern on the CZ 70 to cut down on the glare. You can make a career out of reviewing old CZ guns. The .32 was popular in so many European countries because that was the biggest allowed.

The heavy weight also helps with the recoil!

Mine has that same rear sight. It looks like it is too tall and might cause the gun to shoot high. I won't know for sure tho, until I go shoot it.

Just picked one up. I like it so far except the cheap plastic target sight that came on it due to import.

The M70 itself is a great pistol. It is just not a good choice for one with big hands...

@@lostcoasttv9572 I had just picked up my Colt 1903 Hammerless that day and saw the Zastava also sitting in the case. Saw they were the same caliber and took a chance. It will also prevent me from wearing out an antique for carrying.

I want to congratulate you on your outstanding purchase. I am an avid shooter have quite a lot of guns ... I like the " little bee"( as they call it in Serbia )so much more often than not it is my every day carry gun . I own 3 of them and they are all very durable ,reliable and reasonably accurate .if you have an opportunity to get an original steel sight don't waste any time you buy it, they are the only thing hard to get for your firearm!

using modern high grip will do that, on euro gun designs. Hold like a revolver, and it won't do that. I use a modified old school "teacup" hold.

I picked mine up today and my hammer follows my slide every time I rack it. Have you had any issues? I’ve seen a couple videos of people having the same issue.
@lostcoasttv95723 жыл бұрын
We've had the same issue. At first we though it was broken but found out that the M70 hammer tends to follow the slide after racking.
@Sandhill1988 Жыл бұрын
It looks neat, but in all logic and honesty you can get a 9mm that size or smaller, no to mention lighter. All except for a collection nitch for all intents and purposes the M70 is obsolete.

The name of the pistol is not Czech Zastava. It is Crvena Zastava. It means 'Red Flag'. You are confusing the name with another CZ: Česká Zbrojovka, the Czech arms brand.

Nothing happened when you demonstrated the magazine safety cause the pistol wasn't cocked. It isn't a safety to depend on, the one on mine does not work. Maybe it would with a different hammer assembly, maybe not. You'd be better off to think of it as "not a feature"
@mewmew5577 Жыл бұрын
Its not Czech Zastava but Crvena Zastava (meaning red flag). This guy clearly doesn't know what he is talking about. He even holds it wrong.

Ackshually..... 🤓 Yugoslavia no longer exists, and, although nominally socialist, was not a part of the Warsaw Pact (Yugoslavia's "benevolent dictator" Tito did not get along with/acquiesce to Stalin). Serbia, along with Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, and Montenegro, used to be part of Yugoslavia. Serbia is now an independent country. The Czech Republic/Czechia, along with Slovakia, used to be part of Czechoslovakia, which was a member of the Warsaw Pact.

Why you recording videos if you don't get to know the topic well before that!!! I don't believe "Czech" don't do that if you don't know nothing about this gun!!!🥱😎🍻
