One of the lessons I learned from my instructor a long time ago, no matter how confident you are in your firearms, always assume you stupidly left one in the gun somewhere.

Richard I really appreciate your feedback. It almost feels like something got knocked out of kilter...100 rounds at the range and not a hiccup. This is one of my 3 EDC guns, so I'm glad I noticed this issue before I took it out. I will work on it this week and shoot you a follow up. Thanks Sonny

Hopefully this works for the 82. I just picked up a gunsmith special someone decided to take apart to refinish. Not only did they lose parts and not get it back together, but the finish job looks like crap. It'll be an interesting winter project.

They are mostly the same, so you should be able to use this as a good reference. Best of luck, these are fun guns to work on. Any issues, just send me a DM and I can help you out if I'm able.

@@mandolinman2006 If you haven't searched it already, Numrich is a good place to start. They normally have the schematics along with options to purchase individual parts. Here's the one for the CZ83, which many of the parts can be swapped with the 82: www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer/cz/auto-pistols-cz/83-cz

Is the slide release assembly the same on the cz82? I am stuck on this part, and the spring looks a little different, like a half moon, and it is a roll pin instead of the pin with one small side.
@crimsontechindustries2863
@crimsontechindustries2863 2 ай бұрын
The 82 and 83 should be the same. However, yours may have a roll pin instead of the slotted pin depending on the manufacturing year or if someone had to make a replacement since a lot of the manufactured parts are out of stock. The assembly should roughly be the same, though. Put in the slide stop, put in your spring, slide the pin partially through so you have enough space to lift the spring above it, then slide the pin in the rest of the way.

What’s with the tiny spring still on the table at 44:56? What is it for?
@crimsontechindustries2863

That's the extractor spring for the slide. It's in that clip because I swapped some of the clips around due to the troubleshooting I did on the hammer. You can ignore it, it's use is shown at 17:54.

Great video and high quality! I thought I did what you did with the hammer strut but I think I assembled the sear spring incorrectly? I pull back the hammer but it does not stay cocked. Did you have any issues with your sear spring? Apparently it's a common issue.
@crimsontechindustries2863
@crimsontechindustries2863 Жыл бұрын
Could be a few things, but it's probably not the sear spring. Make sure the mainspring strut is locked properly under the hammer; it sounds like it's off and isn't allowing the range of motion to lock properly, which I've done accidentally one or two times. Also check that the trigger bar/sear/hammer arm connection points to see if the contact points are locking into place when pulling the hammer back. Never really had an issue with the sear spring; as long as it isn't being jammed in there the wrong way when placing the ejector it should line up okay.

@@crimsontechindustries2863 Thanks for the quick reply! It was the sear spring and how it was seated with the ejector and auto safety. The edge of the spring caught on the hole at the top. There's a few old tricks in the CZ forums by using a notched punch to push the spring down through the ejector hole on top to make sure it's seated correctly. Now the hammer locks back. Also for others, for the main hammer spring I used a 1/16 punch to hold it in place and then drive the pin in. For the last stretch, used pliers to pinch it down more so the pin came out the otherside. Needless to say never gunna do a full disassemble again 😂.

I have owned a CZ-82 9x18 for about 10 years now, it's one of the most accurate pistols that I have shot. I just developed a situation on mine. I had it at the range and all was well, ran 100 rounds through it. Did a field strip, cleaned and oiled it and put it away 'till next time. Today, I was getting it ready for a carry day and as I was checking it out, I noticed that the trigger was not engaging the hammer on single or double action. I have to squeeze the trigger several times for it to engage. This has never happened before, could you venture a guess as to what the problem could be?. I am going to use your video to take it apart but I don't know what to look for.
@crimsontechindustries2863
@crimsontechindustries2863 2 жыл бұрын
Take the grips off and remove do a field strip so you can see the internals. Take a look at where the trigger bar is going (the long piece attached to the trigger). It should be reaching back to push the hammer lever to release the hammer when the trigger is pulled (23:31 on the video, it's the small piece that slots into the hammer). If it's not, it could be a couple of issues. Maybe the hammer and hammer lever are not placed properly in the groove, or maybe the mainspring strut or spring are out of place. Hard to tell without looking at it, but a reassembly might help it.

@@crimsontechindustries2863 Richard, this is strange. With the slide off or on, the trigger bar will not engage the hammer. Now get this, if I turn the pistol upside down, with the slide on or off, the trigger bar engages the hammer in single action mode every time, DA mode still not striking on the first try but will strike on the second try. So if I cock it, pull the trigger, nothing, turn it upside down and the hammer engages....what the hell is going on here? Like I said, I think something is off but I don't know what to look for. Sonny
@crimsontechindustries2863
@crimsontechindustries2863 2 жыл бұрын
@@phillyboy1813 So it sounds maybe like the trigger bar isn't being pushed up to engage the hammer lever. That might explain how it's able to engage when it's flipped upside down. You might want to check the trigger spring; it may not be giving enough force to push the bar into position. It could be that either the spring is broken/weak or that it fell out of place. It's around the 27:30 mark on the video if you need a ref on what spring I'm talking about.

The barrel is pinned and pressed so it's not something that a normal person would have the equipment to do. For something like barrel removal, I would bring it to a decent gunsmith.
