Yulia C. Hi! To purchase I’m really not sure but I know the cost of purchasing homes is quite high. We paid $1600 US dollars for rent. I wouldn’t say the “average” person could simply because the average income here is lower however there are still people who make above their average income and can afford to build/buy.

This house is a bit upperish middle-class locally, if I may add my two pence. At least one of the partners has to earn a multiple of the national average for them to be able to afford such a home.

It depends on the location and also If u build it yourself or not. Young Czechs usually either renovate old houses that ar cheaper or they just buy a land and build they own. Even avarage salary can make u live in such a nice house, but it will require patience and craft. The rent of this house Is really high and with avarage CZ salary of 1000 euro not affordable even if both partners ar working. For most ppl I mean. Praque and around Praque becume extremelly And irrationally expensive lately. And generally there is big housing bubble all over CZ. But u can find extremelly cheap houses and flats in foreclosure. U just need cash. My sis bouth a 3+1 apartment for 800 000 Kč (around 35 k euro) And they used let's say another 200 000 Kč (around 8 k euro) for renovation as it was in horrible condition. A simular size new apartments nextdoor start from 3 000 000 Kč.
