the good thing about fender mirrors is that you have majority of your vision time through the windscreen when driving, you do not need to move your eye ball that much to the left and right (also vision focus point) to check side traffic like on much common side mirror cars, thus reducing strain on your eyes especially long duration driving. The bad is that it takes up a little space in your windscreen field of view

The asymmetric layout of the mirrors is used by the factory to maximize visibility at any factory available seat position. Some manufacturers have even done that with door mirrors. The Porsche 993/911 for example has offset mirrors from drivers to passenger so you can see the passenger side mirror unobstructed by the split window door glass. Any way. That diagram is allegedly measurements taken off of a RHD and then flipped to be usable with a LHD which may or may not be correct as it was never tested. I don't know about Z cars but I know that the bluebird 510 they are mounted symmetrically.

That's very true, on my z, I had to have them symmetrically mounted after I made the holes from the online treads.

My friend has fender mirrors, if you get a larger rear view mirror it helps with visibility alot

Fender mirrors are useful if they're a bit bigger than those so you don't have to take your eyes off the road when overtaking

I'd weld a patch and drop a little filler if the doors had holes before you did fender mirrors... not a trivial task if your car is complete and painted already.

Those measurements are for a right hand drive wouldn't you switch it around for left hand drive. Also if you bought those mirrors in Japan. Would they be 600$. .a set ? I guess I'm back from the future .It's December 2020!

Someone switched the measurements that’s why it says LHD on the page, so there’s another diagram for RHD

I don't think they work well but it is the law to have 2 working mirrors on your car. I been looking at fender mirrors for my mini but I really don't what to drill holes. An what sucks is the 2 times I drove the car when I did do a head check to see if it's clear for me to change lanes there is always someone there blocking me taking pictures of my car... Yeah fun. Maybe I should buy a corvette with a loud exhaust so people don't what to look at me LMAO

@Yuvaez Thank you. I also learned that, in that time, many roads were unpaved and had two lanes, one in each direction. So the fender mirrors are not needed. But now, it is very important to give the driver adequate rear view vision. 😄

Dont know what type of primer you got but normal Primer won't protect it from rust! It's porous.

240 & 260 doors are different and there are different 260 doors as well. Fender mirrors are the stupidest things to install, apart from cheesy flares and fake Wats. SHEEP D M build.
