what a dog. it is so great to see working dogs doing what they are born for (and not the "star" of a dogtraining video where they ended up due to their boredom-induced neurosis) love dogs, do not have the time and space right now for one, and would never get a high drive breed like this beauty

Herding breeds, like Australian shepherds, border collies and German shepherds, all retain the instincts to search, stalk and chase and, in some cases, to bite. These skills make herding dogs excellent at keeping sheep and cattle in line. Herding breeds are typically industrious, athletic, energetic, focused, highly intelligent, fast learners and loyal. These traits describe dogs who require daily exercise, both mental and physical, for their well-being. Herding dogs were originally bred as working dogs and have heightened instinctive herding abilities. Herd instinct or herd behavior is distinguished by a lack of individual decision-making or introspection, causing those involved to think and behave in a similar fashion to everyone else around them. 1:31 [Hill's Pet; Investopedia; Oregon Humane Society]
