For Swift, I’m comparing build, running style, usage in the passing game, and speed. He reminds me of Brian Westbrook. Kenyon Johnson is a good back who hasn’t proved he can carry the load. A slender back Johnson has surprising power, patience, great awareness, and not bad in the passing game. Bo Scarborough a big powerful back ran exceptionally well for a guy off the trash heap and running for a tattered Lions team. He is a great short yardage guy who could be a decent 2 down back if last years sneak peak was not a fluke. Swift looks to be very elusive, great out of the backfield, and a guy who can turn a lose into a big play. I think we will see a combo of Swift & Johnson who could very well become one of the top backfield duos. They both have above average abilities, young, share the workload, and push each other for playing time. I see Scarborough getting some short yardage stuff and fill in if one of the other back go down. With a healthy Stafford, a very good receiving Corp the young backs should thrive in what looked like a high powered offense under new OC Darrel Bevell. Johnson in two injury shorten years has 231 - 1044 - 4.5 along pulling in 42 passes and scored 8 total tds would be a great line for a full season.

I really dont understand the devaluation of the RB position. It's far easier to hand a ball off to a back than throw it to a receiver. Every team should be looking for the next McCaffrey/kamara. The position has a short shelf live but most first round picks dont turn out to be great players so why not select a guy who you can run your offense through both in the run and pass game with a back like swift. He ended up in the perfect place with Detroits history at the position with the great Barry Sanders because swift has a very similar running style without the power.

Yes. In his prime. He didn't even suit up for KC's postseason run, this go-round. Even at this late date, Shady could still be pretty good, but his ball security was terribad. You can get away with carrying the ball like a loaf of bread if you're the fastest, shiftiest guy on the field, if you don't put the ball on the ground, and you're busting loose on a frequent basis. That wasn't the case, last season, though. He wasn't a dominating player, and he was careless with the football, and it cost him.
