I love the moment where he looks around at the detectives, the prosecutor, and his own attorney and realizes that this is all secondary horror for them. But for D'Angelo, this was the only life he'd ever known. It wasn't horror, it was just part of growing up a Barksdale. And he finally gets to the point where he can't take it anymore and just desperately wants to start over somewhere, anywhere, where he can breathe again. Looking at all of them he realizes that they don't understand that by locking up him, they're actually setting him free. D'Angelo was one of my favorite characters. I loved his storyline and the tragedy.

Really? Cause all I see is some guy who thought he could get by on his uncle’s name and had no problems with the life he lived until things started going bad for HIM. He was ungrateful, literally brought police attention down on his uncle because he was a punk and killed some man that was whooping his ass and had the nerve to act like he was the victim, didn’t take responsibility for anything he did and blamed his mother and uncle for his decisions.

@@Notimportant3737 Snitching was not a character flaw. He was using what he knew about them for leverage, but I think he would have put them away on principle. And it's hard to blame him if he would only turn them in in exchange for a light sentence when they run the jail and are using that as their own leverage against people turning them in.

@@Yvanehtnioj2000 D’ Angelo did not know Wallace told. All of the suspicions came from how Wallace left the pit to stay at his Grandma house after witnessing Brandon’s body after his torture. He was missing work and using drugs. D was trying to protect Wallace because he grew fond of him and know his actions were suspicious but figured he was a just good kid caught in the game. He kind of saw himself in Wallace a bit. But with the organization trying to tie up all loose ends that could bring down their organization because the police were cracking down on them, he was in trouble. Once Stringer heard Wallace was a liability, vanished and came back that raised red flags. Wallace did snitch but they didn’t know for sure. Stringer ordered it to play it safe and used snitch in order to justify it. I agree with mostly everything else. But Avon did mess up… he didn’t trust many people and without Weebay, Bird and Stinkum, he asked D to make a drug run he normally never asked him to do. The police wiretapped their club and that’s how D got arrested. D didn’t understand Avon did it because he saw him as family and trusted him and nobody else.

Bodie very much underestimated D'Angelo here. While Bodie stood in disbelief of Dee's story about the murder thinking that D'Angelo was too soft to kill, D'Angelo had very much indeed killed before. The problem is that Dee knew he had a strong heart making him appear weak and therefor tried to appear harder than he was by clamming to have killed in a cold hearted and calculated way like a hit man as opposed to what he really did which was shoot a man because he was afraid the man would shoot him first.

Did D’Angelo not also brag about getting away with the Pooh Blanchard murder to Weebay and his Uncle by swaying the security guard to change her testimony. Wasn’t he the one looking down on the Pit dudes when he took over especially to Bodie?? What people missed because they see the side of him that took care of Wallace and showed his soft side and think D was all Innocent. Idk, seeing how people Ike Dookie ended up and after they tried to show us how the education system deliberately tries to make kids fail at learning just so they can appear to be succeeding at getting passing marks, how can we possibly say the gangster life isn't worth it? Look at how Dookie ended up vs Michael. People turn to crime because in the short term it is much more profitable and for those who don't get any support and refuse to turn to crime there's a very high chance that they can become homeless drug addicts and failures. We just see failure happen so much in society we deem it as being homeless in reality that's society failing. I don't think D would have been able to convince anyone until the pathway to success was actually made possible. And that's especially in the ghetto where it's a hundred times harder for the kids there. Only people who managed to get out were the lucky ones who got adopted by more successful families or people like Poot who did enough crime to stay floating until he could get a real job.

bro are you dumb? D just told bodie about the same murder he snitched on wee bey for to mcnulty……..he just told the boys he killed her instead of wee bey and if you look at bodie closely it looks like he doesn’t believe him anyway…..that’s excellent writing

His character doesn't make sense. He was on trial for murder and didn't buckle... but now he is shook? It was pretty inconsistent for this show.

I don't think that he ever wanted to be the Man. It's a family business, so he ain't have a choice. In season 2, he was good with dealing with the consequences. But that was AFTER he stopped talking to Avon.

Nah, I don’t see that. See doesn’t have the heart for cold blooded murder, even when loyal to the game, Wee Bay did. The main reason for Dee’s turn was all the senseless killing, so him having a senseless kill wouldn’t make as much sense. Plus him lying about it to Bodie to maintain cred seems more in character than him lying here.
