Thanks Mwaf for another insightful interview. Thanks for sharing the guest with us. Yes accurate. How it works like for me Hr goes over the resumes and I normally ask for the top 5 and I go over and if I don’t see a good fit ask for another 5 then give it back to them with my picks and ask them to set an interview. Also another way I would ask the team if they knew of someone who would be a good fit and if yes ask them to forward their resumes to me and I forward to HR directly. And like the guest mentioned resumes don’t have to have much just being precise because if I need any information I will ask. I have seen Kenyan resumes/ CVs and it has a lot of irrelevant information that is not needed or considered when hiring here in America 🇺🇸

On the Kenyan resume part and soft skills, so true. I never realized this until I posted a couple of jobs looking for people to hire for some online gigs. I really wanted to hire Kenyans but I honestly couldn’t. The resumes from other applicants out there were just way too superior.

Mwaf, mwaf, mwaf: The US is NOT like Kenya and you are not one ailment away from poverty. There is medicare for those over 65 and medicaid for the poor and many public hospitals that will treat you for free. Please, please, please stop comparing a country with a $30 trillion dollar economy to kenya, a country with a gdp of $100 billion (equal to the poorest state in the US, Mississipi) You will not be left to die anywhere on the streets of America. An ambulance will pick you up and take you to the nearest hospital, where you will be treated and the focus will be on saving your life and not paying a bill. A friend of mine was visiting the US, got into a very bad car accident on the highway, was medevaced to a hospital, treated and they saved his life. Good luck with this in Kenya.
