The 1st hijack. The parachute that was provided to D B Cooper, was modified. You stated the guys name that modified the parachute. How did he know what the hijacker wanted in regards to the style of parachute. When was the parachute provided to the authorities? Did the fbi ever question the guy that modified the parachute? He didn't know what he wanted, he gave him what he had which was 3 different parachutes of 2 different types. All 3 parachutes were given to the FBI while the hijacking was ongoing. Yes and no to whether or not the FBI questioned the guy. The FBI questioned the owner of the airfield who claims to be the guy who gave them the parachutes. Dan interviewed another guy who he says is the actual person who did it.

I always thought Cooper demanded several sport chutes. Multiple so they could not boobytrap the chutes in case he took hostages and made them wear them too. It sounds like that rigger had those chutes there already modified into sport chutes so he supplied those.

The FBI should admit they had him. Simply from the picture alone against the eyewitness police drawing - that's the man. That police drawing is almost as good as a polaroid from that time. Then, all the other stuff, including the Las Vegas data. To sit there in his office and say it's not McCoy is baffling to me. I hope he sees this and realizes that he's been made the fool by McCoy and not Dan Gryder. Gryder simply showed us what was in front of him for decades. That 302 is obviously wrong. Man up and admit it.

Dan Raleigh cigarettes were in the northwest. My parents both smoked Raleigh all through the 60's. We saved the coupon that came with the packs. By 1971 I was 14 years old and I was smoking Raleigh cigarettes. I lived in Tillamook Oregon then. yes I think DB was McCoy

I grew up in southern California, and my dad smoked Raleigh cigarettes all through the 70s. These were widely available in California, so I would be surprised if they weren't widely available in the pacific northwest too. My dad bought them out of bowling alley vending machines, as well as grocery stores. However, most of Dan's other evidence seems very compelling.

You have to watch the previous stories in this. it explains where the FBI got the chute, who provided the chute to the FBI, and that guys description of one of the chutes which he has personally modified. There is a clear and documented path between the chute Dan discovered and the chute DB Cooper bailed out in because the modifications made the chute unique.

the money was lost in the jump. the bag had no handles to grab so he lost most of it. i think cosie was called the night of the hijacking because he had parachutes available and cooper requested 4 chutes.

No. All four parachutes (two back and two front) were obtained and provided to the hijacker, one of the back chutes was green and was originally a military emergency rig, but modified to make it become a sport rig by its then owner. The color and extensive modifications completed well before the hijacking are what make it so identifiable and unique. See the up close video of the stitching used on the green one that I found.

The CNN female anchor called Dan Gryder a former pilot. Not true, Dan is former commercial pilot but current pilot and can teach students to fly. Then in another clip, Laura Coates called Dan a retired pilot. Then you mention O Rings to hook a reserve parachute. My wife's brother jumped out of a plane over Fountain Hill PA. I watched as his main chute failed, he cutaway and pulled his reserve chute and landed OK. Her brother lost a foot when a girl pulled her chute accidently in the plane. He was outside the plane and swung into the prop losing his foot.
