As a Dbacks fan, this doesn’t seem real. Just a few months ago I thought the Snakes had little to no chance of making the playoffs. This entire season I was just wanting them to get into the postseason for the first time in several years and I’d be happy. I thought Milwaukee would sweep us, we swept them. I thought the Dodgers would sweep us, we swept them. Then I started to get my hopes up, but after Philly dominated the first 2 games going up 2-0, I didn’t think we had a chance and just wanted the snakes to make it a competitive series… they just keep proving everyone wrong and I’m still having a hard time processing in my mind that they’re in the World Series.

I was one of the dbacks fans who were upset with ownership trying to squeeze a cheap team year after year, hoping to gave an ok year here and there. Enough to keep the fans coming back. I felt this year was no different, I thought after the early season success they would crumble and just barely make the playoffs and lose in the first round or miss the playoffs. Which they have done ever since they changed uniforms and have been putting a cheap product on the field. I thought the Brewers would beat them but Dbacks had a chance. But then against the Dodgers I thought noway. Dodgers always take down the DBacks. Then the Phillies, no way, another top 5 MLB team payroll. Too much talent, especially after the first 2 games. Now, I still have a hard time believing.

I said this once and I’ll say it again, Ketel Marte is once of the most underrated player in the MLB. He helped the dbacks past the Phillies, has the longest hitting streak in a post season and he the guy you want at bat in clutch moments. I’ll calling it here, dbacks are wining the world series.

That is old school baseball.. : Emphasis on contact, no or few K's from o-hitters, hit the ball where its pitched, great D when needed, take the single if you need it, and get on base. HOMERUNS only work when a team's pitching has no command of the strikezone. ARIZ. hurler M.K. KELLY had command, not just control, placement= COMMAND. This "not many homers hit, but pitching command exhibition"..reminds me a lot of my ROYALS in 2015's W.Series..and we know who won that one.. One more thing..the A.L. was 34 games worse this season than the N.L in 2023..so reg. season W-L records can be deceiving. With every team for the very first time in both leagues playing each other MLB team this season.. at least three times and both using the d.hitter every game, the interleague record is more accurate than ever this year. So the.. NL WEST was 404W-406L vs the A.L... while the A.L. WEST was 391-419 VS THE N.L., with AL WESTER OAKLAND's 50-112 overall vs. MLB, record responsible for pulling that AL VS NL RECORD down a whopping 62 GAMES..the rest of the A.L. was 28 games above .500 vs the N.L., although the A.L. CENTRAL was only a putrid minus 94! vs the N.L., meaning the A.L. EAST was 88 games above breakeven.. In other words, the AL WEST was weaker overall vs the NL and the NL WEST at basically breakeven VS THE A.L., was still better than the AL WEST. I would add no games to AZ's win total and subtract 1 or two from the RANGERS win column to compensate for the league and division strength difference. . Now, look at their records= TEX. 88 or 89 vs ARIZ's 84.. That is far more realistic..

As an Astros fan, my team is obviously out of it. Still, I'm all for the underdog taking it all. The DBacks are a team that I don't think anyone was predicting would even get into the postseason, let alone be playing in the World Series this year AND doing well in said series! Have to hand it to the DBacks. They responded as good as you could possibly hope for. Rangers better figure out how to hit or they aren’t taking it all. The DBacks continue to find ways to get hits and they could easily have been up 2-0 going back if it weren’t for two swings. They have become too dependent on the long ball. Two to three hits strung together almost always scores runs and they just can’t get hits strung together.

I know if I were to bet on the Diamondbacks with real money, Kelly would've gotten shelled, Marte wouldn't have gotten the historical hit, and Carroll would've gotten injured for the rest of the series. Better we just keep our hands off.
