Thank you so much for these videos. This horse’s behaviour is identical to one of a pony I have in my barn; you’ve clearly explained the body language I’m seeing in my pony and you’ve given me some tools to open up our training conversations, with success. The disinterest, the kinked tail, the bracing… it’s so important to read their language and respond appropriately.

You took a lot of time with that horse and explain each step of the way and that is how I know you are a very very good trainer. It takes time to train a good horse but you shouldn’t have to keep doing it just like you said once you got them, where are you want them they should know then they just need to be corrected, as you go, that’s my belief just my opinion

Also check for spine pain. You say no but his reaction says yes

Pain can cause all sorts of problems when it is present there is no doubt about that . How ever this was simply a work ethic and preparation issue and he was going this to avoid listening to the direction of his owner . After this one session she is now able to safely deal with him and he is agreeable and happy . So his tail is kinked in his mind
