The price makes me feel a little sick tbh. Looks amazing

Do you need to insulate the servos and wires from the heat?
@gasmith841 Жыл бұрын
Not in this case. Each driving bogie has a servo, but its well away from the main heat source...the boiler. The wiring is mounted in such a way that it is not in direct contact with hot metalwork

Beautiful loco. Shame they don’t do a 2 1/2 inch gauge version.

Thanks for the compliment Alex. 2 1/2 inch gauge? Is that a popular gauge?
@GarrattHamster2 жыл бұрын
@@gasmith841 hmm. It was with model engineerings and a handful of garden railways. Years ago. But it’s been having a come back for several years. There is difference with 2 1/2 gauge as it’s a bit over scale so that the driver can sit behind and trundle along and fire and drive. Garden railway side of it is known more for been called gauge 3. More closer to scale. If you scroll down on my channel in the video section and go down several years you will see some 2 1/2 inch gauge locomotives in action at one of my local model engineering clubs. But yeah. I came across your channel actually from this Garratt. I do a weekly check for any new Garratt locomotive clips and one of your clips popped up. So yeah I had sub. Lol

Is there not a water tank, and a feed water system?
@gasmith84111 ай бұрын
Hi Tim, there is no separate water tank. The boiler is topped up via a Goodall valve in the cab and a hand pump action water bottle & hose

@@gasmith841 hmmm that's interesting. I would have figured it would have one. But it's just a Goodall valve.
