When my party first got into Barovia, i put this music on. One of the players decided to go off road and into the forest to roleplay some elf voodoo ritual or something and then the wolf howls started. It proper freaked them out when i sent some dire wolves chasing Her out of the forest. It probably saved the campaign as i was really nervous and awkward during the pre-Barovia events. First time DM. Much love for making this!

Threw this on as I narrated the mists rolling in, and my party's press into the woods to get back to a no-name village for a pre-COS hook. They'd just burnt through most of their resources, and decided against camping out for a long rest, so they're already spent after a couple sessions roleplaying and fighting. I hadn't listened to the track before putting it on, so when the wolves started howling after some drawn out narration, it really got my players in a mood, and I'd be lying if it didn't tickle the back of my neck too. Thanks for the wonderful sound engineering you've got going on here!

Good idea! But the swirling, claustrophobic fog is so thick that it's pretty impossible to see, so you have to, with each nervous step, feel in front of you to avoid bumping into something! Everything is so silent except for your faint sounding footsteps underfoot...

Would it be possible for you to create some variants of this one by chance? I've been using this track CONSTANTLY (as well as all of your others) in my CoS campaign, but the part with the wolves feels just a little over the top and tends to break my group's immersion. I would just seek around and loop certain parts, but the bot I use on discord makes this very difficult. Perhaps a "ravens only" and "wolves only" version? I also think a night time one would be very nice. Perhaps decrease the frequency of or remove the animal sounds, add in more insects, breezes, twigs snapping - that sort of thing. Your quiet forest at night track does the job as well, but I think you'd be able to do some great work with a specifically CoS flavored version of that. Regardless, thanks so much for your work, you've helped bring my games to the next level. Can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Hey. Thanks for the support! Thats totally possible, and I was thinking the same myself when I was using it in a game that "I need one of these without wolves".
@MicahAlfordable6 жыл бұрын
Felt the same thing. Several times my players made out-of-game comments about the wolves howling. I think they would be super cool in the background, but it seems like they're standing amongst the party when it happens. Thanks for all the great content!

I can just imagine. These soundtracks add just another great tool/dimension to tabletop RPGs. There is a revival going on in the Tabletop World of gaming whether it be games such as D&D, Pathfinder, etc. or other games like Dix It or the old tried and true like Monopoly or Card Games; I see such a resurgence. Your work allows a DM/GM to add even greater depth.
