콤보로 연타 맞다가 땅에 쓰러지게 되어 있는데, 그걸 다른 무기 공격으로 이어지게 해서 쓰러지지 않게 하는 게 핵심.. ^^

a few things I've learned from watching this: 1. Hammers, Daggers, LBO > any elemental/legend swords 2. Why kill the creeps when you can just skip the levels 3. Hidden doors should stay hidden 4. Lightning Bolt one shot kills synn !? 5. With such game clearing speed, Arcade owners must have loved you

Don't worry about sword of legend, it's largely just skipped because it's too much of a detour for this speed category. Elemental swords on the other hand have always been weaker than your base weapon. Fire and lightning do less damage per hit anyway than weapons lv3 and 4, and they can't combo, and they're not boosted at all by elemental rods, and their damage bonus against enemy elemental weaknesses is on the scale of like ten pixels of life bar. Even the frost sword is juggling, not comboing, so it has a strict four hit limit from any touch and it breaks fighter's rising attack (down up + attack). Incidentally the lightning bolt one shot on red dragons has been a part of community lore since the arcade days, lol. (Combo three or more hits into a lightning bolt, and if you catch the dragon in a flinch state they'll take damage per frame during the entire animation instead of just one hit. It's kind of really random in practice because Synn has to follow a particular attack pattern to even be open to the flinch state vs lightning bolt.)

Gotta give credit -- I have NEVER seen anyone beat Ezerhorden (the ghost boss that turns into a big mouth to try to swallow you) in direct combat. Easily the most skillful Mystara player I've seen to date, speed runner or otherwise.

@Marko kovac It's a bug in every version. If you hit Synn with three consecutive attacks - doesn't matter what they are - the elf's lightning bolt is guaranteed to score a crit on the fourth attack, AND it double hits. (Magic user's lightning doesn't double-hit, so you can't do this with him, but you can do it with an item.) I've seen this done on three separate occasions, including with a cleric and a lightning staff (GDQ 2016).

For people wondering how this was done, the video description says "Save&Load Speedrun / No Tools&Hack". So it's probably a tool-assisted speedrun insofar as using save state and reload to execute every strat perfectly, but without frame advance etc, and no hacking to give you infinite health or whatever.

He was using the Elf's alternate skin that allows two different players to play the same character, when selecting your character at the beginning, if you press select rather than any other button it gives you the alt skin.

초반 게임 시작 전에 '세이브 앤 로드' 하면서 했다고 설명 나와요. 길을 알려주기 전에 세이브 해놓고 길을 알고나서 다시 로드한다음 고블린을 무시하고 가는거죠.

저도 어렸을때 한 던스 하던 사람입니다. 저는 이렇게 현란한 컨트롤을 가진 것은 아니지만 던스 때려죽여도 못하는 사람들도 대리고 원코인 리드하던 기억이 있습니다. 제가 또 달랐던건 전원 원코인으로 막판 보스까지간담에 막판보스에서 시작하자마자 지팡이궁극(전원피달면서쓰는) 그거하면 오락기가 따운되는데 오락실주인한테 이야기해서 400원받고 나오는.. 실제 노코인게임을 여기저기 다니면서 했었습니다. 암튼 그정도로 애착을 갖고 있는 게임인데 이 사람 플레이를 보면 정말 대단하다는 생각이듭니다. 플레이하나하나가 참 대단하네요...

+김석민 라이트닝볼트 크리티컬이라고 손으로 때리는 공격을 3번 맞게하고 바로 라이트닝볼트 반지나 마법을 쓰면 저런식으로 드래곤한정 한방에 보내버릴수 있습니다. 타이밍 잡기가 약간 어려운게 흠이지만...ㅋ

+김석민 한마디로 일종의 타이밍으로 저상태에서는 보스가 슈퍼아머상태같은거라 데미지를 연타로 쭉맞는겁니다 그레서 죽어버리는거죠.
