We took on this project not knowing what exactly we were going to capture or even how, but we knew it was an opportunity of a lifetime and that we had to be a part of it. It ended up being a more meaningful experience than we could have imagined. Due to the subject matter, historical locations, and the personal stories shared, each day after filming there was an immense emotional weight. It genuinely opened our eyes and changed our perspectives on sacrifice, family and gratitude. While we by no means want to compare ourselves to the veterans we had the privilege to work with there, we chose “Here Am I, Send Me” for the title of the documentary feeling it not only represented so many of these soldiers but also fell right in line with how we felt when this project was first presented to us- Filming these veterans, and a gold star mom, and sharing with them this experience in Normandy, was an intimidating and overwhelming responsibility but we essentially raised our hands and said “we’ll do it, send us!” and we are forever grateful that we did.

I’m so great full about all the soliders upon lived for good. If one of you’re family members died having a trouble that they couldn’t fix then fix it to make them happy. You should know when someone you truly love dies they are still with you on your shoulder with their aunt sisters and others who were before you. Even if they are dead or long dead they are cheering for you because ones you get back up to prepare to fight again. You know that they love you. Your parents are wrong about “I will love you TILL the day I die” wrong they will love you and never stop wether if they’re asleep, not thinking about you, dead, long dead or away they will never stop loving you. Remember do what you have to do and make them happy wether if they can or cannot see you do it

I once knew a man who jumped on D-Day. By the Grace of God he survived, and future generations of his infant children, and grandchildren, were christened/blessed wearing a dressing gown made from the cloth of his parachute, made as an homage to thin line of existing - or not existing - and how his family came to be, from the thin sheets of a round descending canopy.

Yes I'm here because of a video of a bunch of kids jumping on a water catapult. It was Awesome. I decided I should check out this channel. Watched on a young lady and her sister with CF, made me cry so here's one, it looks patriotic. It made me cry, can I say that out loud? Dad retired Air Force, served during WWII and through early 60's. Brother was weekend warrior with National Guard. Another brother, Marine Corps Vietnam. Next brother retired Air Force then did 20 more as a civilian. And another brother served I believe 3 years in the Navy. My oldest brother is a Baptist preacher and my sister married a guy who later became a Baptist preacher. I'm the youngest of 7, I'm a truck driver. Thank you for making this video!! It is well done! It is awesome! There are so many people out there who would rather spit on a soldier or even a police officer. It is unbelievable where our society is headed. As the one soldier put it, people are more concerned with how many likes they get on instagram. They don't even know what the real world is about. Thanks again! When I get a chance I'll get back to your channel to see if it will make me smile or make me cry. 🤔

Wow! a 40 minute rollercoaster of emotion, I was not prepared for this one bit. Just wanted to say Thank you to Devin and his team, this is one of the best documentaries I have ever watched. I only live across the channel from Normandy and iv always wanted to go and honour those brave Heroes that gave soo much for us to be here today. My goal in life now is to go for the 80th Anniversary. Watching this documentary, I've seen some amazing visuals of Normandy and the beaches that iv never seen before, I grew up watching Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers which gave me an idea of what these heroes did, but these visual gave me the scope of where they were and how big it all was. You used one of my favourite poems "In Flanders Fields" in the Doc, I always shed a little tear hearing it as it's a powerful piece of writing, being 1/4 Canadian and never knowing my real grandad that never came back from the war and this made it even more emotional to watch. Thank you to all the heroes that never got to come home and to Kristoffer Domeij. o7 The utmost respect. We will Remember them! o7

I'm no North American, I'm no French. I was born and grew up in a Country that never felted the directly impact of the war, and even with all the violence that we're seeing in Rio de Janeiro, we not know how it feels to loose somebody dear, or loose an interie city beacause of a bombing, or even to starve because of the war. I live in São Paulo, Brazil, and every contact I had with the history of the war was trough movies, games, books and whatknot. This being said, I must say that documentary was very emotional for me. I could feel the respect, the honour and the feelings of those people. The weioght of the history they wanted to shre and the homage they wanted to show for their beloved ones, for those they lost, and for thos who had family members fighting and dieing for something above their own lifes. This documentary was beautiful, passionet and very emotional. I cryoed with the mother, with the historys and with all teh emotion showed and felted!
