This is amazing, thank you. I grew up familiar with these places from the early 50s, and have watched them becoming more and more overgrown. The woods are haunting and beautiful, the memories resonate. My father was at the unveiling of the Turnaware as chairman of the parish council.

Hey Phil, where did you get hold of the aerial photos? Really interested in getting as much info together about Cornwall and Devon's role in the preparations for Neptune and Overlord, these would be a real help

Some came from the Newmans who owned Tolverne back in 1994, others from a folder in a filing cabinet in Falmouth library. You also want to get 3 books - Operation Overlord by Roderick de Normann (Tormark 2019). D-Day by Roderick De Normann (Tormark 2021) and Operation Cornwall 1940-1944 by Viv Acton & Derek Carter (Landfall Publications 1994) - to help you get to grips with Cornwall and D-Day.
