They didn't use the M3 to cut risers in an emergency. They were issued the M2 automatic opening knife which was carried in the collar pocket that was accessable from either direction, for cutting the risers in an emergency.

@@Railhog2102 depends, the marines had the P-41 uniform made of a hearing bone twill fabric, but what is typically referred to as “HBTs” are the armys 2nd pattern field uniform, which was issued to all army personnel in WWII as a standard fatigue uniform, and you do see some marines using them.

- The gas mask bag was an assault gas mask and issued to varies assault troops infantry and airborne, the model shown in the video is also post war as it has lift dots and not concealed snaps. - Airborne first aird kit needs to be called 'Parachute first aid kit' it was issued to US Army air crews as well as airborne incase needing to bail out from aircraft - Wrist compass's were not standard issue, most jump masters had these but they were not widespread - Same for standard compass's those were typically given to NCO's and Officers - Herringbone twill is a material type, HBT for short and is not cotton , US Army had special HBT uniforms separate from the M42 - missing a wool shirt, standard us army uniform - Grenades and flashlights on suspenders isn't practical unless you friction tape them on they fall off a lot If you decide to re-do this video it would be awesome to talk about: - why the extra arm pockets seen on the 506th guys - talk about the jump boots - showcase the helmet markings - Gas detection and prevention via CC2 on the uniforms - mention the throat knife - cover the amount of K-Rations carried - mention that each regiment that dropped in to Normandy had alternate ways of doing things via kit, for example drops ropes were not used in the 505th because they learned in the MTO to use their reserve chute as a climb down device The kit set up here is an okay example of specifically the 101st - 506th PIR, other PIR across the 101st and 82nd differ

Hi where can I buy an exact color of gear such as belt, expanders, mussete bag in right color? On this movie uniform and everything else look greenish but when I try to search online and buy stuff the uniforms look brownish or brown such as belts and webbings brownish or even yellowish.please help I live in UK. Is there any accurate online shop I could buy airborne stuff in right color and shade?
@cadennorris960 Жыл бұрын
At the front sells good gear. WhatPriceGlory is a UK based company I believe but I don’t know how good their jump uniform is. Ww2 impressions is expensive but supposedly worth it. The color of the webgear should be OD3, I have an at the front cartridge belt and haversack, the color is perfect and it’s really good quality. I would assume the pistol belt and musette bag are also good. Original pistol belts are still available and often times cheaper than repros.

I'm interested to know how the main chute was attached in conjunction with the backpack; how were they able to get a snug fit over such bulky equipment?

The Musette Bag was attached to the suspenders and slung to the front of the paratrooper's body and hung around the knees below the reserve chute.
