Sean Ono Lennon not only lost his famous parent tragically at a young age, just as Harry did, he grew up witnessing the cruel and shocking press his mother Yoko Ono often received. Harry's mother, in contrast, was elevated to a saintly status by the public - and Harry openly stated he was jealous and resentful of the public's affection for Diana and the outpouring of global grief. Such different outcomes for Sean and Harry. Sean sounds well balanced with a sense of humour.

The Jam Lady and her Lapdog seem to think they have the hardest lives in the world. Maybe they should be introduced to people, especially children, who have been trafficked or have to sell their bodies to make a living for their families. To people who cannot provide any food for their families. To people who have PTSD or are schizophrenic. To people who are kept as slaves, who live in warzones, people who have to dig in rubbish dumps to find things to sell etc.

There is something to be admirable about that.

My embarrassing story: I went to my 8 year old daughter's parent teacher evening and they had the kids story books on show. There were a few people looking at a book and laughing. On investigation it was my daughter's book and she'd written "last night a man came to the house on a motorbike and my Mum got on the back of the bike in a black nightie". I literally have no idea where she came up with that story.

Hi Shauna, thought I’d share one of my embarrassing stories. When my daughter was little she loved to glue and glitter her colouring books. One morning I found glitter all over the top of the top of the vanity unit in my bathroom and told her to clean it up. I dropped her to school and rushed home for a quick shower as I had a dreaded smear test appointment that morning. As the doctor was carrying out the procedure, he said ‘oh we have made a special effort’. I had no idea what he meant and was too embarrassed to ask. His comment bugged me all the way home so I immediately went to the bathroom to take a look for what on Earth he could have been referring to. In the sunlight I could see my nether region glistening and sparkling with little glitter particles. My daughter had used my wash scrunchie to clean up the glitter and just put it back in my shower cubicle. I kept blushing for days every time I thought of that doctors comment 😳

Following the death of my husband, I started attending a weekly bereavement group at a local hospice facility. As my first meeting was getting underway, the cutest little dog toddled into the room and stood by my chair looking up at me. I love dogs, so I took a moment to give the little guy a scratch behind the ears. As I looked up, I saw everyone looking at me in complete horror. They explained that the dog belonged to one of the hospice nurses, and her dog would regularly cuddled up with a patient who was about to die. No one at the meeting was ever willing to even make eye contact with the little dog, but I never cared about that sort of thing. From that day on, I always went out of my way to pet the dog whenever I saw him stray into the room. He brought much comfort and peace to people who were at death's door, and he gave me something to look forward to each week as I coped with my husband's death. P. S. Shauna, I love your weekly shout-outs to Beauregard! Sip!

Our boss asked my sister-in-law, who had come into the family after my illness, what was wrong with me and she told him I had long-term health problems because I had gotten en-syphilis when I was a teenager. I was mortified when she mentioned the conversation to me a couple weeks later. I talked to our boss on the phone the following day and he laughed. Hi Shauna, we were in France last week and we took our dog Coco so we had to go by boat. Driving back to the ferry on our return home we drove through a village near Pegasus Bridge and there were so many soldiers there or people dressed as soldiers from WW2. My grandson was saying oh no Nanny let’s go quick before the war starts (he thought France was being invaded). It was really special to see. When we got to the Ferry and we were waiting to board the incoming cars were disembarking and all these WW2 vehicles started driving past us. All different kinds keeps, ambulances, tanks, troop carriers. They were beautifully kept or restored with flags . It was really emotional. There were so many of them. When we got on board I was talking to a lovely French lady who worked in the duty free shop and she said she had tears in her eyes watching them too. She also said she had served a gentleman (veteran) who was 104 who had come all the way from Australia to be at the memorial. He said he just had to go. We were saying imagine having the sheer strength of will to embark on such an epic journey. He must have been 24 during the landings. That generation were so stoic. She said she had also served a lady who was 101. Simply amazing. Enjoy your new coffee machine ❤️

At the theatre, Mum liked to take her shoes off. Once, during the final act she put her feet down & one foot slipped into a shoe that wasn't hers!! She was so shocked she kicked the unexpected shoe away & we listened to the thump thump as it made its way through the aisles of seating down the slope. Mum made us wait until nearly everyone had left before I was told quietly to retrieve her shoes from under her seat. As we left, like nothing had happened, there were only 2 women left in the theatre, waiting for us to leave, presumably so they could hunt for a missing shoe. That poor one shoed lady.

Trying to do everything right a guy at table next to me tried to cut his gerkin. The two pieces flew in opposite directions clear across the restaurant. Not one of us laughed. When I came up I could see some of the boys laughing, and I realised to my horror that I still had my knickers on top of my bathing suit. Oh Shauna, all the stories are hilarious !! Never miss this Goss Before Bed, we get to see your fun side. Let me add another thong story : this was the early 90s and following Baywatch mania, thongs were a must have for many women then. I had work trips to the UK, staying at a small hotel attached to Gatwick airport. That day I was in a hurry to meet a friend living in London, so quickly pulled out a tote bag from my suitcase, haphazardly throwing a few things into it. Imagine this Shauna : hotel room to the train platform 20 minutes, down a few escalators ...... train journey 45 minutes .... up a few escalators, 15 minutes walking out of Victoria station to the arranged meeting point. Victoria Station is always crowded, thousands of people everywhere. When I met up with my friend, she gave me a big welcoming hug ..... and suddenly. her eyes went as round as saucers .... she spluttered loudly "WHAT'S THAT ????!!" pointing to my tote bag. Attached to the back of my tote, jauntily flapping around was a puce coloured Thong !!! It must've snagged onto the tote's velcro strap during my rushed packing. I didn't notice anything, jet lag meant I was half asleep on the train journey ..... OH if only the ground would swallow me up !! Thong Post Traumatic Syndrome is real ...... that awful cringe feeling, of the months checking and re-checking myself before leaving a room, and I chucked out all my thongs fearing a a repeat of that day. Of course we all laugh about it now !!! Much love and sips, Aida, Singapore.

My embarrassing moment was when my youngest daughter told the cashier that I took money from the hospital to buy candy. We collected money to buy candy for the patients and staff. It was my turn to purchase the candy. Boy, was I embarrassed.

Hi Shauna, young children often provide very funny stories. I was heavily pregnant with my daughter, and inevitability my 4 year old son, asked how was the baby going to get out of my tummy, and we gave him a nice explanation. A little while later, my Mum was in the kitchen, and he asked her, Nana are you going to have babies, no I am not she said quite brusquely. He looked up at her, and said why Nana, doesn’t your little opening work anymore. She was not amused😂 My daughter when she was about the same age, and we went to her first wedding, and it was about an hours journey away. A week later, I was brushing her hair, and she said Mummy, I am never going to get married. I said oh sweetheart why not, she said well it is too far to go. She will be 40 this year, and still doesn’t want to get married. Hope they give you a bedtime giggle. Thank you, I so love your videos, you are simply the best❤

My husband insists the world is going to hell in a handbag. I keep telling him it's a handbasket but he says he doesn't know what a handbasket looks like. I imagine everyone peeking out of my mother's top clasp handbag. Oh Shauna! I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that embarrassed themselves at the Waldorf! I laughed so hard. I do love the comment section, your subscribers are hilarious!

We would love the Hospice nurse stories. I was with both my parents as they passed. When I realized my dad had passed, I said out loud, “Death is as much a part of life as birth is”. It was beautiful! And Dad was no longer in pain, but at peace!!

The derby fashions are always my favorite! I have a favorite story of my maternal grandmother and her dentures. When I was little (3-6) I knew Grandma Maggie had false teeth she could take out because I would see them in her cup with cleaner at night on her nightstand. She would also make really weird smiles and stick her teeth out at us and giggle. One day she was holding me and I’m not sure why I did it but I decided to grab the top teeth as she stuck them out! We were both surprised they came completely out. She howled with laughter but never wagged her teeth at us again😉

The story about waiting for the angels reminds me of an experience one of my assistant managers had in the care home I used to manage. All of the residents had dementia, but there was one who was still reasonably aware and could remember my friend Carol and had a special relationship with her. One morning, a carer came to the office and asked Carol to come to this particular lady's bedroom as she needed to speak to her. Carol knocked on her door and entered. Usually an 'early bird', Carol asked, "Are you not getting up this morning?" "Not today Carol, I thought that I would stay here as I think that today would be a good day to die." The lady was in rude physical health, and as she said that she didn't want to see a doctor, Carol assumed that perhaps the lady had been dreaming. A few hours later, a call bell summoned Carol to the bedroom again. A carer had taken a midmorning cuppa to the room to find that she had passed away.

Thank you for another highly entertaining GosSIP Shauna. The stories of children saying unintentionally funny things reminded of a story my lovely sister told me years back. My sister was a psychologist & her hubby a taxi driver. When my nephew first started school my sister was told at pick up time by the teacher that the class had been talking about the jobs their parents do. My nephew when asked what his dad and mum did replied ‘my dad picks people up and my mum makes them happy’ 😂😂😂😂. Love all your shows, thank you for all the work you put in to create them. ZB

Hi Shaun glad you appreciated the fireman story. Here’s another (condensed version) On weekends used to go visit with my in-laws. They lived in a small village inland from the sea near Viareggio. I had left them with 4 duck chics I had salvaged at a country fair. I used to look forward to checking up on them every time I visited, watching them thrive and grow. This particular Sunday I found only 3. I asked where the 4th was and was told it had escaped to the stream that ran through the village. I spent the whole morning checking the river to see if I could find it. No luck……tired and fatigued I returned to the family home just in time for lunch. The usual gathering of the entire family. Still not completely convinced of their explanation for the missing duck during the first course I asked if they were sure it had gone to the river and not elsewhere. No, no it had gone to the river I was assured. “What’s for seconds” I asked. “Rabbit” they all replied in chorus. Then my eyes beheld the roasting dish as it came out of the oven. “Well” I said “if that’s rabbit it’s the first I’ve seen with two legs!” How could they!! I was nearly sick, so I got up and left in the deathly silence.

Loved the stories. When my daughter was 4 yrs old, we had some sweet elderly ladies over for tea. My husband and I managed an apartment in San Francisco for pensioners. They asked my daughter where she went to church. She told them we went to the Basturd church. 😳😬Of course, she meant Baptist!

Scary story....I used to own a tavern in PA that was built in 1754. The previous owner was a nasty alcoholic and used to pass out in an upstairs room. When I owned the tavern we lived upstairs and had a baby monitor in my daughters room. My husband and I were downstairs at the bar, and we heard our daughter talking to a man. We looked at each other and he went up to check on her. My husband asked my daughter who she was talking to, she said that man. The receiver for the monitor sat on top of the bar, so everyone who was sitting at the bar heard the dialogue between him and our daughter. You never saw a group of people move so fast to get out the door of a bar

Shauna, we are living in a very corrupt world where money talks and the entitled can promote whatever lies they want to peddle. It is sad especially when people are caught up in wars, they are struggling to get food, water and medical aid. Many are experiencing a cost of living crisis. There is increasing homelessness and poverty and longer NHS waiting lists even for cancer. You know real world problems but these two rich grifters are still playing the victims. Frankly, I do not care about them or their first world little issues.

Here’s my embarrassing plant story: my non-gardening husband was chatting to the RHC card holding neighbour about a large, flowering vine on our adjoining garden wall. ‘Oh yes, we have a huge chlamydia’, he announced proudly. 😱 ‘Clematis’, I hissed, ‘it’s a clematis’. 🤭

I ❤ GBB! Thank you for making me laugh and for sharing so many funny stories. Here’s a true story from when I taught internationally. One of my pupils was regularly late and usually gave tall tales for why he was late. One day he rocked up almost 4 hours late with the best reason - one of the crocodiles had escaped. This is true and his family had rung the school to say why they’d all be late. It’s great to know there are so many of us in this cult - Sip ☕️

The eyeball on the hospital locker, reminded me of my nurses training funny story. I was looking after a lady who had been in a car accident and we were checking her pupils every hour, looking for signs of a head injury. I started my shift and panicked as the ladies left eye did not react. I checked the charts, and noted for 2 shifts, hourly checks showed it reacting. I had one last look before reporting. I noted how the light reflected and asked the lady "do you have an artificial eye?" With that she said yes, i wondered why everyone kept shining a torch at it. With that I organised a cup for cleaning. Imagine the surprise by the manager when I went to the office with the eye in the cup. I got a bertie beatle chocolate for keen observation. Lol

I'll watch you at anytime, lol, you know that! Always do whats easier for you. The hospital story reminded me of when I was in having my daughter. I was in a private corner room and could see people coming and going, it kept me entertained. One afternoon a man walked down holding the hand of his daughter who was skipping happily along. When they got to my room the girl broke free from her dad rushed into the room next to mine.... her dad chased her and as they passed he was saying "No thats not our baby" and off they went up the other corridor away from me. About 3 minutes later I heard the girl running, screaming, crying, she rushed back into the room next to mine. Her dad soon appeared again and started walking/pulling her out of the room. The little girl was screaming at this point and said "I dont want that baby..." and pointing back into the room she just left "I want that one!". I got the death stare from the dad as I burst out laughing lol

I could not agree with you more about the world calming down. I really wish people could find a reason to just be nice to each other. My family is about to experience the first anniversary of my granddaughter's death. She was 3 months off her 7th birthday and had spent 4.5years battling brain cancer. It brings life into realistic focus. Our children are not supposed to go before us. It's a double whammy when it's a grandchild. It really doesn't cost much to be nice, does it ❤ I suffer from insomnia, so even though I'm here in Oz please do a GBB any time that's good for you. I'll be awake for it 😍
