This anime is one of the most DRAMA thing ever and I love it. If you gave a character a choice between A) kill your enemy B) spare your enemy A DGM character would choice option C) Tell your enemy you loved them, hold them tightly and jump from a cliff together.

Its a shame the anime didn't continue after Hallow, but with the way it was going, it could have thrown a wrench into that formula because Allan is possessed by a Noah, a prisoner in his own body not unlike an Akuma. We also have the third generation exorcists who are being compelled to kill their friends on the whims of the Earl when they originally partook of dark matter to do the opposite. Finally there's the Black Order and Innocence, which are far more evil than one might think, given their nature to purify dark matter. And then we have the Black Order leadership shrouded in secrecy because they're more bloodthirsty and sadistic than most Akuma despite being human themselves. Finally there's the Noah, who may not be as evil as we've been led to believe, we're led to feel sympathy for the devil on the grounds they've lived too long that they just wish to end the torture of eternity, explaining why they want to wipe out humanity with Akuma, they know they'll keep reincarnating until there are no human vessels to reincarnate into. The morals of the light corrupted by the darkness of war, the devils in the darkness revealed to be tortured victims of a terrible curse walking a path of desperation to end it. Finally there's Allen Walker, the one who's forced to witness it all, a foot in the dark with the Noah, a foot in the light thanks to his Innocence and cursed eye. Allan is the man in the truly grey, as well as the one who would paint both sides grey to see them for what they are. To kill your enemy is mercy To spare your enemy is to prolong their suffering The third choice should be to find a path that ends this eternal dance of bloodshed, carnage, murder, and warfare. Allan Walker is in a unique position to do just that.
