Thanks! Yes it does. You can sew an elastic back around the back for a more snug fit.

I actually think that your mannequin having short hair is great for making wigs on it because the cap would slide off the smooth mannequins without hair and the hair on mannequins with long hair would get it the way. Anyhoo, great video! I've never tried this technique but your tutorial was very detailed, informative, and easy to follow. The final product looks fab, great job Fash :-)

Happy Easter everyone! Omg @lover4fashion! Honey u saved my life and time again. The new wig I made this time was with model model Persian hair. It came with 4 lengths and a free closure. 14,12,10,8, and the closure I gave away. The hair is wet and wavy to straight. I am wearing my wig straight via flatirons with no oil or spritz. This hair is the business! I will wet it in the summer. I have had zero shedding or tangling. Just stopping by to say thanks again. No more sew in ever for me!

@ebcicles I noticed using silk scarfs to tie your hair will keep the smooth look so you wont have to flat iron every single day.

I'm soooo loving this! U see I've been doing quick weaves for years and I'm tired of the glue! This method is MUCH easier and longer lasting! I will be making my own u-part wig next week!!! Lovin your hair!

@TheVintagePoint Depends on how you close you sew the u-part.

@limzprettythang You leave enough hair to cover the shape of your U part. Depends how big/small your wig is. Yes there is some leave out on the side (1/2 inch). I use a flat iron to get it flat.

Thank you! I wear them all the time. I sew my wigs down now because the clips cause discomfort. If you plan to wear high ponys, then I suggest using a weaving net with adjustable straps. It fits much more secure.

@Misstee175 I actually displayed a picture where you can make the u alot smaller than demonstrated in the video. You can also sew the last track under the cap backwards so the weft doesn't show.

I enjoyed the video. very informative and creative. you made it look so easy. I hope to have a great outcome as well. Can't wait to try it out. I have been wearing sew-ins for about two years and my hair has grown tremendously. however, i would like to give my natural hair more attention. Thanks so much for making a detailed video. It looks great on you and natural. not at all like a weave because how flat it lays.

Hi :) Thank you so much for such a detailed video its by far the best I've seen. I was just wondering....do you wear the u-parts often? Do you ever sew them down? I usually get sew ins and I leave a lot of hair out all around my perimeter to do high ponytails and stuff. Will I be able to do this with the u-part you showed here? Thanks in advance

Hi Fash! Great video!!!....I know that you said you can go to get fitted for a wig or take your own measurements. If I were making this wig for myself, do you think it would be easier to put the cap on my head first then take a white pencil and mark my measurements with a cap on versus off?
