I'll have to try this myself. I've been been looking for a shade for my chart plotter which is eleven inches wide. The largest I can find is a "Universal" but it only extends to ten inches

I use my cell phone to keep track of how far I walk. Sometimes something goofs up - like the program cutting out, I can't see no matter how bright the screen is. Would be nice to put one together that's collapsible that I can stow and pull out when I need it for the cellphone - maybe attach it to the cellphone case somehow. Ingenious idea. They do make lightweight corrugated plastic that could also be used for something like this and maybe glue hairbands or silicone rubber bands to it if it was needed for long. (would also be nice to be able to see what you're taking a picture of with the cell phone - that's something else that can't be seen very well - camera settings.)
