According to my experience, the first pillar of loving someone else and living with someone else is to first love yourself and live with yourself. Don't find anyone until you find yourself, else both your spouse and you yourself will be stuck with the wrong person. You can never identify your true soulmate unless you have identified your own true self.

You are correct but self discovery is a full time job which takes years. The process actually begins in childhood with parents doing better for their kids.

I feel that life is very short to know own self completely. Max one can know only 75 % of own self. And if this is true, then it impossible to know other persons even half of what they are. Max one can know only 50% of what they are. In this limited time period of life, it's only possible to identify majorly visible qualities of self and others and try to make compatibility between both. May be that's what is called Friendship.

@@mayurpattarkine2758 true. That's why acceptance always supercedes compatibility for longevity of relationships. Unless there are very radical differences between two people, they can stay in a relationship for mutual benefit or emotional fulfillment if they accept each other's differences instead of trying to change/fix them. It sounds dull and unromantic but it is the best bet for longevity of the relationship.
