Hello shelly, i realise this video is quite old and perhaps you dont check anymore, howvever im desperately looking for an answer. When the IP led light is on red, what does this mean? I think i was recorded in the dark without my permission and cannot verify it without purchasing it. Thank you in advance!!!!

Hello, I haven’t used these cameras in a long time but I believe the red light is just an LED to indicate the camera is on. You can turn the LED up or down. If you were in range of the camera you definitely could have been recorded. The camera doesn’t store video though, so whatever was captured would be stored on the owner’s phone.

These cameras don't have an internal battery, so they need to be plugged in at all times. D-Link does have two new wireless cameras; one with LTE and the other with a rechargeable battery.

Great reviews as always. Only issue is there seems to be an audio issue with the camera your using to record this review. It makes you sounds muffed. I'm not talking about the surveillance camera your reviewing, now that audio is obviously bad XD

I noticed that too, and I couldn't figure it out until yesterday when I was filming another one and I realized it was because I was using the forward facing camera on my iPhone. Something is wrong with my audio when I film that way, but when I use the other camera it's fine. Very strange.

I just got this and I can only watch the camera when I am on the same wifi network which is useless, can’t connect to it other wise

That's strange! I could connect to it from LTE or my other Wi-Fi, but I had to be on the same network to set it all up. Once it was set up I could see a live view from anywhere.

I returned it and got a d link 8500 which works fine and records video, I have another 8500 so it's all good

This is not an ip camera so i couldn't watch when i was not on the same WiFi network to the camera. How come? Anyone can help?

It's one of the limitations of this device. Definitely the major downside to it.

Since i bought it and connected it to my phone and wifi my iphone 10s max is now fucking slow and lagging WHAT..THE..FUCK!!!!!
