The line "A world without you isn't meant for me" drilled a hole in my heart. Also right before the end of part three where he has the flashback before he flicks the lighter on, she mouths "I love you" . Bruh...you feel all of his pain. I bet that Peter Welch had no clue how famous he would become for being in "a video for some death core band". You two should watch some of the reaction videos Will Ramos does with The Charismatic Voice. He's like a kid in a candy store which is the total opposite from the demons that take over when he sings.

For me this song is portraying a very real side of what it's like to go through these emotions. The video with the different seasons. Rain symbolizing sadness, the snow storm showing the cold anger, and the fire being rage. The music forces you to respond because it's assaulting your ears with frantic sounds. It forces your heart rate to increase. While simultaneously showing you grueling emotionally driven scenes from someone grieving. It's reproducing that same scenario. It's forcing you to feel what that man in the video is feeling. Everything moving around you so fast and trying to make sense of it all... All while grieving. The breaks in the song allow you calm moments, like that of a manic episode where your body forces you to catch your breath. And just when you think it's over it devastates you and throws you right back into the thick of it. Whether you've loved someone like this on your life or you've witnessed someone that has gone through losing someone this close to them. You can't imagine it. But the video and song almost create a simulation of this. Why? IDK, but it humbled me a lot and forced me to take a look at what I thought mattered in my life.
@Nate_Marshall226917 ай бұрын
I feel that the screaming really accents the pain and passion in the message from the POV of the person experiencing these feelings. You do feel rage and anger when someone who is your whole world is senselessly ripped from you. So it's cathartic to hear it sung from a vocal standpoint that accentuates that raw pain and anger from loss

As a guitarist with over 40 years' playing and gigging experience, including playing this kind of music....songs like these are utterly exhausting to play. I've done 4 hour shows, so I know the drill, so to speak. It's SOOOOO technical in every department. Drums and bass are absolutely locked. The guitars twist between that and syncopation. It's crazy hard stuff. And you need forearms like an aircraft carrier's anchor chain for any of those instruments.

Lorna Shore is breaking down the barriers of genres and making deathcore more mainstream. Every member of their band is an expert at their craft and this trilogy is a masterpiece of modern art. The poetry of the lyrics, the intricacy of the instruments, the production, the acting...everything about it is perfection. I love how the weather in each part is different and reflects the stage of grief that is being represented. Also, notice that there is an underlying melody throughout all three parts. Many fans label this trilogy a "Deathcore Ballad". It's beautiful. You asked "I wonder why he wrote about this". The guitarist actually was the main writer for this trilogy and he took from his personal life experiences. However, this trilogy comes at the end of an album where the theme is basically about fever dreams. Will has talked about having these "waking nightmares" and the whole album culminates in this trilogy (which Will also helped write from personal experiences). As someone who struggles with siginifcant mental illnesses and experienced loss, this trilogy hits really hard. Each song has a specific feeling that comes with it and I feel every second of it. When the music stops and then Will inhales for a scream right as the man strikes the lighter...goosebumps every time.

Lorna Shore is absolutely God tier at what they do!. Slaughter to prevail was my first introduction to deathcore but Lorna Shore with Will on vocals is what got me hooked! I mean CJ with Immortal was bloody amazing but Will just brings something that I can't help but fan boy over. His vocals are incredible, Austin's drumming is absolutely epic... everything about this band and their development is so captivating.

The video you've been told about exists. There are two. One is just s lyric video and the other is a fanmade video with the lyrics (probably because they didnt want to get copyright strikes or something of the sort). So, either way, this is the best way to experience it with the lyrics pulled up on the side. This video, even when you're not looking at the lyrics, makes you feel something on top of Will's voice. Yes. Angry but very emotional. I think its safe to say we've all lost someone important to us and when i hear Will's screams during the song, it reminds me of the anger phase of our grief. So it all makes sense to me

I don't know if it's within your purview, but Will did an hour long video with The Charismatic Voice where they went to a vocology clinic and actually did a deep dive into harsh vocal. They put a camera down his throat, took scans. Everything. It's a really fascinating watch. I'd love to see a reaction to that, but I get it if that's too much of a time commitment. I know you're busy ladies.

You asked why he wrote about this: the lyrics have a different meaning than the videos sort of. It was written to end an entire album about lucid dreaming. All the way from realizing he’s able to control his dreams to becoming a god and manifesting his own world to resentment of it all being unreal and burning it down. These songs are about a love interest the narrator has in his dreams. Coming to the realization that it isn’t real and one day will have to wake up. “Even inside a dream this world has no meaning”

This whole album is really interesting. It's about a man falling asleep and sinking into his own dream world, becoming a god of his own universe. Each song tells a story of different parts of living this dream world, first realizing he's a god and feeling powerful from it. Eventually, this god starts feeling utter lonliness and decides to create a world with where he has the perfect partner that compliments him. Then this trilogy happens at the end of the album, and it can be deciphered two ways: - in context of the rest of the album, it's about the inescapable truth of entropy where even the god can't escape the natural decay of everything. He loses his partner and in his grief he decides to burn it all down and finally wake up, knowing he can't escape grief and turmoil even as a god. - the trilogy itself is also a love letter to those dreams people have where they meet someone so perfect for them and vice versa, where it feels like you live a full, happy life with them and then waking up and losing it all, feeling that longing to find that person or to return to that dream to be with them again. (as explained by Will Ramos, the singer)

For a little insight, the band when writing this album in its entirety wanted to gear towards a more emotional approach compared to their other albums. Will Ramos having been recently, around that time leading to the writing and recording of this album, being THE set vocalist for the band after having lost the one before to reason I will leave off this comment, and having been a fill in for vocals on Lorna Shore's tour and their EP ...And I Return to Nothingness, he wanted to pull all the stops as this is his first official album with the band. To my fellow Lorna Shore fans, if I got any of that wrong feel free to correct my mistake appropriately, and I had the same reactions you both had after listening to this trilogy.
