Ödön Racz Double Bass Solo: Domenico Dragonetti - Waltz No.3

The collection of twelve stylized waltzes by Beethoven’s contemporary Domenico Dragonetti is a true delight for double bass players! The “Paganini of the double bass” grew up in Venice, but moved to London as an adult. It is there that he probably wrote the twelve waltzes. They are quite likely the earliest surviving works for double bass solo. These charming pieces have not been published in their entirety for a long time. Despite their virtuosic impression, the technical hurdles can be comfortably mastered; the pieces are therefore not only suited for the concert hall but are also perfect encores. Die Sammlung von insgesamt zwölf stilisierten Walzern des Beethoven-Zeitgenossen Domenico Dragonetti ist ein wahrer „Leckerbissen“ für Kontrabassisten! Der „Paganini des Kontrabasses“ wuchs in Venedig auf, übersiedelte aber als Erwachsener nach London; dort sind vermutlich die zwölf Walzer entstanden. Es dürfte sich dabei um das früheste erhaltene Werk für Kontrabass solo handeln. In ihrer Gesamtheit blieben diese reizvollen Piècen lange Zeit unveröffentlicht. Sie sind trotz ihres virtuosen Gestus technisch gut zu bewältigen und eignen sich nicht nur für das Konzertprogramm, sondern hervorragend auch als Zugabenstücke. Die Dragonetti Noten sind im G.
