Or you could have a boss break the spell card rules. That would be a challenge! I'd still love to see a boss that uses a layer mechanic, in which you have layers of bullets, one of them is active, lethal, the two others are passive, you can see them, but they won't hurt you, and they're transparent. The boss would then switch between those layers, sometimes even making some layers overlap for a few seconds.

Mushy Sweetbuns Sort of this was implemented in Imperishable Night. 1) There was "familiars", that disappears, but still marked by magic circles when you play as team and switch between "human" or "yokai" mode. They are never appear for any "yokai". 2) Reisen U.I. has quirky spellcards with bullets' relocation. Bullets either disappear or blurred when relocating. I think either ZUN don't want to this in newer games or games' engine limitation.

I was happily surprised with this battle. Very happily surprised. It wasn't extravagant, there were surprisingly little projectiles, yet I haven't had such an exhilerating bullet hell experience since Byakuren. Not to mention, set to this FANTASTIC theme. Trumps Miko's and Shinmyoumaru's as well, in my opinion.

First time I read the theme's name, I read it as "Pure Fairies ~ Whereabouts of the Heart" In any case, Junko is something new. Very minimalist, yet deadly--- almost like Seihou. And her design and theme sorta reminds me of Shinki. Lunarians do use a different style of danmaku from the Gensokyoans.
