Wonderful viewing...Awesome opening and closing scenes ...Love the way the moving silhouette of the train against the contrasting backdrop ...Absolutely stunning the way the sunset can be glimpsed from the windows of the moving train ..

I notice white markings on the wheels of the coaches and baggage/mail car which I also see on New York City subway cars. Is this some sort of mandated marking and, if so, to what purpose?

I don’t know if it’s necessarily mandated, but we use them to see if the wheels are sliding to prevent flat spots during heavy breaking. If the wheels are sliding, it means it’s harder for us to stop, plus the damage to the wheels when they’re not rotating

It appears to be oil in a solid form, like wood, but some form of rock that burns… Can’t quite tell what it is, never seen it before in my life… 🤣

@@Big_Diehl Haha...ok I hope you did ok? Rocks are hard for sure. I think even the Durango Train ran coal last night for the Polar Express 12/29/2022. Not sure, hard to notice these days with the tricks online.
