@@kinzeypaul1819 I've never attacked Tom quit lying. Somebody's got to correct you all when you spouting lies like " _they ran a train on Sarah_ !" Tom is a good character and so is Sarah based on her voice actress's performance (cause Aaron can't write female characters), and Tom gets the respect he usually deserves. In fact out of all the main characters Sarah seems to be the only one that has some respect for him. If he wanted more he needs to stop being the weak-will guy he is. And that's not Sarah's fault

I went to Obama's inauguration, and it was great until it was time to leave. There were so many people, and I'd come by subway. The terminal was over crowded, and several people fainted from the heat of so many people in one place. I'll never forget though, when George Bush appeared the crowd started singing nananana hey hey hey goodbye 😂

Checks out on the whole Obama craze. Each of the characters represented one of the common reasons why Obama was voted Riley - “he black” Grandad - Has no clue what his actual policies are and assume the wrong things. Acts like he is the reason Obama got elected to stroke ego. Thugnificent - Has no clue about politics , but jumped on bandwagon like a lot of celebrities did for personal gain. Sarah - Only caring about how his looks/position Huey - Jaded realism. Knows it’s just same usual politician game regardless of skin color or party affiliation. Doesn’t care about the election period.

Nice reaction. This episode has totally aged like fine wine because of the way it tackles on Obama's campaign, identity politics, and how people reacted so negatively towards anyone that showed skepticism or opposition towards Obama. Obama's campaign was so full of hope. People who voted for him felt so much hope and change. Though he ended "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", legalized same-sex marriage nationwide, brought police accountability, and other good things he did, he was just like any other president. He did bad things too such as deporting so many immigrants, killed people with drone strikes, expanded state surveillance, expanded ICE, and raided more marijuana dispensaries than any other president. And people who were so blinded by their love for Obama would call ANYONE a racist for not agreeing with him.

It's true there were Black folks who where hated for criticizing Obama. One of them was current presidential candidate Dr. Cornell West. But there was also real racism against him, highlighted by numerous conspiracy theories. There were digs at his intelligence, questions about his sexuality, his birthplace, his daughters' parentage and much more. It was downright nasty. Even Dr. West defended Obama from those particular attacks. In the Obama years it was a common tactic of Republicans to claim any criticism of the man got you labeled racist. It wasn't necessary to label Obama critics racist, when the man faced so much actual racism.

We watched the results come in throughout the night in the large common room at the base floor of my dorm complex, and there was much elation when Obama was declared the president-elect and the dorm staff ordered a ridiculous amount of celebratory pizzas. So much hope and positivity in the air that night. And now, welp.

The funny thing about elections that I have seen, is that people's reactions are always the same. The people who loves the party will love everything that party does, and the people who dislike that party will spread hate about them. So in the end, it is not "The president is doing a terrible job", is it "This president is proving why I hate that party."

Yes! We have finally made it to the complete masterpiece that is Season 3! Honestly I love this episode because it is an absolute accurate with how and why people were voting for Obama. Me being an 8-year old black kid at the time, most of my family were like Riley and *only* voting for him because he is black and of course other black kids at my school thought we were gonna rule the world bc Obama was in office😂 I had maybe two teachers who were like Sarah’s promiscuous self and voting bc they thought he was hot lmao. Another crazy part was that I had white friends who said they couldn’t support Obama bc they thought he was the Anti-Christ which as an adult now tells me sooo much about their parents It was truly a historical time to be alive when he won. However, like Huey, I was like “Eh.” bc politics lol

I would suggest yall look up the story about the teenage girl who was s****lly assaulted in a Virginia high school bathroom by a male student who identified as being a girl. The school allowed transgender students to use bathrooms matching their gender identity, and the school tried to cover up what happened, and the parents sued Loudoun County Public Schools for 30 mil. That same boy who identified as a girl ended up going to a different school and assaulted another girl again. That situation spread nationwide and there was public outcry and a republican was elected governor as a direct rejection to the insanity of woke policies. People don't play about their kids, and I don't blame them. boys/men who identify as girls/ women who want to place themselves in women's/girls' restrooms and locker rooms, etc, is a very serious matter. it's about predators taking advantage of other people's causes and doing real harm, and we should absolutely talk about it.

"Who you vote is private, whether or not you voted is public information." Besides it being a fact, it only means, "Go vote, no matter who you vote for." Sorry someone asking you to do your constitutional duty and vote sounds like a threat to you.

*EVERYONE* I just want to point out a real sibling moment in this episode: When Riley is asked how he would describe Huey, he paused. He thought about for a second. He could have gone with the obvious one word answer "GAY", but inspite of all their rivalry, he smiled, looked at the camera, and said "Real Nigga". AND MEANT IT. And then he doubled down on his answer even though it was two words. That's just a powerful sibling moment on this show 🤌🔥🔥🔥

All excerpts from Conan O'brien needs a friend, Werner Herzog on psychoanalysis: "one of the monumental mistakes of the twentieth century.."(his opinion) also, on cheap drama: "the poet must not avert his eyes... once in a while, Here comes Honey Boo-Boo.. very very fascinating, there's something deep about society..." he is wild and would have a hell of a convo with a real Huey.

12:59 Granddad's plea of "Don't tase me, bro!" is a reference to a 2007 incident that occurred at the University of Florida. A student named Andrew Meyer was tasered by campus police after refusing to leave a forum in which Presidential candidate John Kerry was speaking. Meyer screamed the phrase which became a media sensation after video of the incident spread on KZbin. Here’s the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJO5kmmgo5mlpqcsi=A9qRs7SIvJtsKO8-

As a South African, this US election looks like a shitshow but to be fair we have our own shit show going on this year. But Biden looks set to lose because of supporting Israel. Just showed that the Democratic party isn't leftist really and that will disillusion a lot of his base. My 2 cents since it was asked.

Also, if we’re going into politics. How “clean” a president is with their PR is basically hyperbole. No president is ever clean. So instead of voting off their personal lives vote off their policies.
@aria88banks84

Idk I disagree somewhat. Yeah, no president is ever clean but for example if I learned someone who was running for president who was known for raping children no matter the policy I wouldn't vote for them. Or if I saw them associating with sus people I'd be a little skeptical of them. I feel like what they do in their day to day or past is a tale of their character/personality. I get we're all humans we make mistakes but it's also actions if you've learned from it. Knowing their policies is definitely important too.

That said, Obama's policies were textbook neoliberalism. Not exactly what America needed at the time, but he also wasn't a disaster.

Obama ran on hope and change and we did get hope. Obama showed that you can make it in this country despite any obstacle. the change we got is worse tension in politics- we got the tea party and trump. the tension is the worst its been in decades. politicians will do any thing now
