鍾家與何家皆是四代世居香港的家庭，傳至第四代，因兩家經營手法迴異，何家已發展成本地財雄勢大之財團，而鍾家卻仍抱守祖業，不論家勢財產，均難與何家相比，惟鍾家的一家之主鍾世基(鮑漢琳)卻仍是固步自封，以守業志，反之，何家的何錦暉(江漢)、何兆祖(伍衛國)父子，在商場上叱吒一時，為求更大發展，早已覬覦鍾家舊樓產業，更施手段將鍾家家產蠶食。
鍾家長子鍾宏達(秦祥林)經歷家變後，決重振家業，暗藏機心，投靠何錦暉，不惜與好友施穎聰(曾偉權)，妹韻冰(麥翠嫺)等反目成仇，更追求何家獨女倩碧 (余安安)，覤準機會，反為何家基業徹底弄垮。

Thank you for showing this drama. Nice to see ATV dramas, esp those in the 80s. I hope ATV will allow us to watch Dynasty (Alex Man, Wu Wai Kok, Mai Suet) again. This was one of the first TV series from HK _ 1981 and it was indeed memorable
