Hi friend, the PCV pipe goes from the black box on the back of the block, then to pcv valve and to the intake manifold.

Yeah definitely a job for someone small, even I had difficulty because of the limited space, have to do everything with 1 hand 😄. But very glad its possible without removing engine 😅

That's the same radiator cap I have on my 98 civic ex. Haven't had any problems out of it so far. Just an old Honda with 258k on it

Thanks for your videos! I’ll probably try and pick your brain later on! I’m currently planning a d16y8 itb-turbo set up. If I can prove to myself it’s worth it! ?🧐

Hi Jager, if you build the motor I would say yes, but if you just boosting on a stock motor I would say just boost on the stock intake, you won't need the itbs to make the max power the motor can handle. Just turn up the boost till it makes 220whp and leave it there.

I Have Never Changed A Vernier Pulley For The Camshaft. You Take The Old Pulley Off & Fit The New Vernier Pulley. Is The Vernier Pulley Mainly For The Vehicle's With A Turbo & If You Have A Degree Cam. If You Loosen The Allen Keys On The Vernier Pulley, How Much Do You Set It To The Left Or Right. Then You Have To Tighten The Bolts & Check The Timing With A Timing Light. I Know That When You Take The Car For Dyno Tuning They Loosen The Vernier Pulley & Play Around With It Untill They Get Maximum Performance. & The Same With The Distributor They Loosen It & Check Where It Gives Maximum Performance. Yours Is Dyno Tuned. What Make & How Big Turbo You Have On The Car. How Much Are You Boosting It. The Car Is Very Clean. Are You From South Africa. Very Helpful Video.

Hi Allen, I mainly got the pulley because I swapped on a vtec head and sometimes it requires the adjustable pulley to get the marks to line up as per factory marks. cam advance or retard can move your powerband up or down a bit, helpful for turbo setup as you gain a bit of control over your power band. It is more helpful on DOHC motors as you can adjust valve overlap. I currently run +3 degrees to get my cam to factory 0 degrees. it is running 0.6 bar boost and made 139wkw. turbo is a T04E 50mm 0.50AR

Hey sir! Got an ek civic d16y8 with 176k on it. Car runs great and I just wanted to get a bit more “pep” out of it. Im deciding if ebay turboing the car OR just saving up for a future Bswap. Kinda wanted your take on it. I wouldnt chase anything past 200HP or above 10lbs of boost. And I would likely replace the pistons/rods/cam springs/retainers to help with some longevity. Smart to throw money at this decently aged Dseries or save for the Bswap? Many thanks

Hi J, the mileage should not be an issue if you boost it, also if you are only looking for 200hp you don't need to change anything internally in the motor, at 200hp it should be just fine and still be decently reliable for a long time. the Bswop will be more reliable and have a better power band and better fuel consumption. the turbo D-series will need a tune-able ecu, upgrade fuel pump, injectors and clutch. I think you should look at cost, turbo D-series will be more fun, Bswop is more reliable and stronger incase you later on want to boost the B.

@@RisingBoostYT yes I’ve seen cost wise that a bswap will be cheaper. And i’d like to boost it yes. However, finding a decently priced/mileage one is difficult currently. And noted! I will leave the block as is then and start to source the needed turbo parts. Thanks for the super quick reply!
@RisingBoostYT
@RisingBoostYT Жыл бұрын
If the Bswop is cheaper i'd consider it if you can find a good motor, they are superior to the D in most cases, but if your D-series is not burning oil or breathing more than normal, it could be easier to just boost it, it's definitely more fun and you get turbo noises. just don't go too big on the turbo or it will have turbo lag like mine.

@@RisingBoostYT I havent searched too in depth with your turbo size, by a T25/T3 should suffice no? And indeed, the Bswap would last longer and handle boost better. Unfortunately even the space/tools to swap it out myself is lacking at the moment. Therefore, it persuades the Dseries turbo more and more.
@RisingBoostYT
@RisingBoostYT Жыл бұрын
In that case boosting the Dseries sounds like the best option, T25 should be just fine for a decent powerband

Hi Grantdy, for me the D16A6 pump worked perfectly on the D15Z4 that is similar to the Y8. I know there is a pump with a slightly longer or shorter lip where water goes into the block. Those don't work on each other, but i have never seen the long lip pump so not sure what motor use it.
