The real reason why he is ranked so low is because literally every enemy that has come out since 1.0 deletes his entire kit. There's almost no fight where you don't get AoE, target focused, adjacent dmg, or all of them. He relies on shield which can only be accessed through Gepard, who is extremely outdated by now. And, yes, he has been hard replaced by Jingliu in terms of dmg. But, there's still bright side to him. If we get a content that is extremely hard, not a race against time, single target focused, and freezable, he can still make a comeback. (nvm misha is still probably going to be better than him even if that's the case 🤣🤣🤣)

I have E3 Yanqing and it's exactly as you described - i used him a lot in my early days, but when i got to endgame stuff like MoC, i benched him in favor of my better characters. he's not bad per se but he needs really good support in order to shine

@@hann1bal197you also forget that tierlists are also made off of ease-of-use, pros and cons, and overall dmg: Jingliu might have less dmg then DHIL, but, is ranked higher due to the lower SP cost, which makes her king due to better pairingsc that’s a fundamental problem with characters like QQ and DHIL.

Yanqing did well here bcs OP was lucky: if Yanqing got hit, this run would already be over due to losing his state stack, and really, that’s why he’s ranked so low: his ability, path and traces makes it harder to pair with any sort of long-term team that doesn’t include gepard, or just limits him to a handful of teams, due to how easily his state gets destroyed. If this was SU, or any other content in the game, he wouldn’t fare as well, since if he can’t end the match in a couple of turns, or stall long enough for the enemies to not get a turn, he will get hit, and if he gets hit, or loses health, it’s game over. It’s not the fact he’s bad, it’s the fact he’s a glass cannon that can’t make up for the fact he’s a glass cannon when their are better options like DHIL and Jingliu, as well as being as SP hungry as DHIL but with less (maybe equal.) dmg, but doesn’t have an countermeasures for when his gimmick ends (like how DHIL has scales in-case you run out of SP.) Really, all units are viable in HSR, but due to circumstance of both path, skills, and overall kit, it will determine what is better or not. A tierlist (especially stuff like Burger or prydwen.) are suggestions on what the best units are, due to what is good, bad, and whether the goods outweigh the costs.

Tbf, and i know this is the point, but any character would do well with triple harmony (in this case Pela over Tingyun, but Pela synergizes super well especially with e4 ice shred). He's not the worst designed character gameplay wise, ive seen worse in other games. But one thing i absolutely abhor from his kit is his massive 140 energy with nothing in his kit that boosts his energy recharge. Other than that, I'm kinda fine, kinda, with the whole soulsteel sync and his low rng followup, but yeh, his energy is way too high for me to care about him in any shape or form.

Arlan is actually good. The main problem is his TEAM LOCKED status because you must put 2 Important harmony characters ON THE SAME TEAM like Bronya and Tingyun. You need Tingyun/Bronya on second team unless your second team is Kafka DOT or Himeko+Topaz monofire.

Nah, D is about right. Taking zero damage to do decent damage basically means you need gepard or aventurine for solo sustain, who you might not get for a very long time. The followup attack is rng with no way to make it guaranteed, plus an rng freeze. The ult has incredible crit stats but it makes you overcap an insane amount of crit rate unless you want to backload 90% of your damage into only the ult, plus it has a very high energy requirement. Exclusively single target. Talent lasts for 1 turn only so you're pretty screwed if yanqing is CC'd or he needs to basic attack. Even if yanqing never takes damage, his single target damage output isn't too impressive.

Ruan Mei against non freeze immune enemies 3. Welt against non emprisionment immune enemies 4. Any team with Clara 5. Gepard 6. Fire MC (only against some specific enemy formations) People who say that YQ relies on Gepard either aren't thinking that hard or have skill issue and blames Yanqing for it.

As a yanqing user since the beginning of the game, it’s really not that hard to have his passive lost. I use him with March and just apply her skill on him like every 3-5 turns. Don’t listen to those people who say you HAVE to have Gepard. He can hit pretty damn hard with or without his follow up attack. He requires very little investment bc of his crit rate/dmg buffs too. Of course He does have his flaws like being only single, passive and being pretty rng w the follow up as well as being dethroned by Jingliu in pretty much every aspect but MAN do people underestimate this character.
